We live in the east texas area. We just had a house built and have 20 acres surrounding it. We want it to remain woody to a point but would also like some landscaping in the yard close to the house. We have sod the grass in the front and have bahayia in the back yard in the surrounding pastures. I need help to really get started.
Thank you for your time and professional courtesy.

DIY Landscaping
Marie, I have a sis-in-law in Gilmer(near East Mountain)I love your beautiful rolling hills.
The first thing i thought of was a forsythia bush somewhere is a must if you can incorporate in your plans. My X son-I-L has one in Longview and people stop to take pictures in spring. Don't know why more people don't plant them.
What kind of shrubs, plantlife do you like.Azelias do great in ETX too.
You could go native flowers, Tropical,English manor,
Hope you'll get some ideas.
