My lipstick plant has been blooming for several weeks now, but the flowers are dropping like crazy. It has produced about 100 flowers so far, but about 2/3 of them have fallen off.
The plant is hanging in a very big bathroom with indirect light from windows on two walls. The room temperature is a bit on the low side, maybe about 65F to 67F at night. It doesn't get terribly hot during the day either. It is about 73F in the morning and evening. The plant is not close to the AC vent. So I don't think it is the hot air from heating that's making the flowers drop. I water the plant about once a week.
Any advice? Thanks.
lipstick plant dropping flowers
It may drop buds in response to change of location, temperature swings or uneven soil dampness. Make sure there is no bugs, sometimes it just drops flowers that are spent.
That is a beautiful plant. Pretty flower color!
Thanks, tishrh. The plant has not been moved. I will hold off the watering and see what happens.
