Hi everyone - I'm new to DG and way over in Australia, so I suppose I should say gidday! It's very interesting reading all forums with people dealing with freezing conditions - we've just have a 43deg C day. My husband and I ran a plant nursery here for 16 years which we closed down at the end of 2008. I now work at the local nursery - so if I can help with any technical questions, I will stick my hand up. That's what's nice about plants - they're universal. I love Australian native plants, so if anyone wants pictures of a particular plant, I will try to track it down. I have a collection of cane begonias and find they cope with little water which suits me, as we are on water restrictions here. I also have a potted Bottle Tree (Brachychiton rupestris) which is my pride and joy, a potted Firewheel Tree (Stenocarpus sinuatus) and a Lemon Myrtle (Backhousia citriodora) which makes a fantastic lemon tea. Anyway, I will be reading everything with interest. K

Welcome!
Welcome, glad you're here.
hi kathmartoz! welcome!
Australia is on my list of places to go....you know, in all my spare time with all my spare money ;) someday I hope to get there.
Hi Kathmartoz, Hope you have as much fun as i have here.
I was a big fan of Steve Erwin, The crocodile hunter. So feel like i've been to OZ in spirit if not in person.
