Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Star , there is a Kansas city, Mo. and a Kansas City, Kan. The main office is in Kansascity Mo. I'm surprized they didn't send it to St. Louis. That is where they should have sent it. I believe she lives on the line. I used to live in Mo. There is n telling why theyt do the things they do. Probably just to confuse everyone and upset trinia.

Seale, AL(Zone 8b)

Imazadi.. Man oh man sorry to hear abotut he fire, but so glad you adn yoru daughter safe. Fir e a very serious thing. That why i cant plug stuf in here. I been lucky so far that when sparks came otu wall or felt hot wall swithe s that nothgin caught fire.

Could ha been so much worse. It bad now, btu at least ya alive and wel and that what counts. If ya had somethgin special in yoru stash let me know, who know s may have it in my crisper.

Northeast, WA(Zone 5a)

Imzadi, did you have insurance? If so, they should have house cleaners come in and clean everything. Several years ago my dad threw a cigarette lighter in the fireplace by mistake. It exploded and threw black smoke thru the whole house.

Their insurance company hired a company to go in and wash everything. Ceiling, walls, carpet cleaners, the whole thing.

Worth checking into.

Winchester, KY(Zone 6a)

Imzadi.... I have a ton of seeds that I didn't get a chance to go through yet. A whole stash from last year... plus all the seeds I just got in. I'm a big vine collector too... If you LMK what you lost or what you like... I might have some things here for you and I'll toss them in the mail :-)

Ella... Or, anyone else who starts Iris seeds.... I'm interested in that toilet method, sounds easy! I don't know what kind of Iris seeds this works for. I have some Jap. Iris. and a few seeds of Louis. Iris. Do you start these differently? Any help on starting both these seeds would be great! :-) Thanks!

Imzadi,
My heart goes out to you & daughter. I too have veggie & MG seeds
that I didn't list in swap but would be more than willing to share with
you. Let me know what you need.

To Ella & ALL I wasn't even half-way thru the piggy box when I
became overwhelmed thinking of the generosity of spirit of those
who wrapped, labeled & sent off their precious seed destined for
the garden of a virtual stranger. I just let the tears work their
way out before I waded through the box again. Thank you just
cannot express how grateful I am to all of you. May I do justice
to each and every seed entrusted to me.

Now I have to go have a talk to the seed & tell them that I will try
my best to plant them the correct depth & that I will try not to knock
over any trays if they will promise not to have any "dampening off" accidents.

Happy planting

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

oh yeah and before i forget....MAMAWK....Point me in the direction of that lousy good for nothing of Carolynn's....I have some aggression me and my baseball bat would like to work out!!!!!!! Being someone with a life altering illness I will never recover from only deteriorate...his actions really tick me off!!!!!! did he forget about the part "In sickness and in health?" If he wasn't gonna stand by that he shouldn't have gotten married. Makes you wonder how he would have reacted had it been there children instead of her? YOU CAN'T DIVORCE CHILDREN!!!!!!!!
with those kinds of principals your daughter and grand(s) are probably much better off without him!!!!!! he ranks just below my step kids momma! And if she needs anything you just let me know!!!! I may not be christain, but even little witches like me have very high moral standards when it comes to marriage, kids, and values!

ok I'll get off my soapbox now and go sit in the corner like a good little witch and behave now

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Trina, I'm with you... and I also wanted to say that "high moral standards" & integrity aren't the baliwick of any one particular faith... I've known Wiccans, Hindus, Muslims, and agnostics who hold to higher standards than some who attend Christian church every Sunday... and I've known cheats and low-lifes who profess any one of the above also... it's not a matter of being a good Christian, it's a matter of being a good person. Hopefully, being a good Christian -- or a good witch -- makes one wish to be as good a person as they can be, but that's a different point. :-)

Back to the topic at hand, I'm trying to be as good and patient as possible while waiting for my magical piggy box to arrive!

Browns Mills, NJ(Zone 6b)

Must be a slowwww wait for the mailman in the middle of the night ;)

You didn't get yours yet? Even the Jersey girls got theirs. hmmmf!

Browns Mills, NJ(Zone 6b)

Maybe It flew up through Philly.... I'm only 45 minutes from Philly.

Delray Beach, FL(Zone 10b)

Imazadi so sorry about the fire. At least your piggy box (and your piggy self) wasn't in there. Let me know if you want any star of yelta morning glories, marigolds or russian sunflowers...I know I have lots of those left even after the swaps. I have other things too, and the piggy box.

One thing about ammonia, don't use it if you have a mold problem, it feeds some molds. Ammonia is great for grease, but use bleach for mold. If you have the receipts for your purchased seeds, you can include that in your list to your insurance company.

If anyone doesn't have them, please buy smoke/carbon monoxide detectors right away. You can get them at Lowes/Home Depot when you check out the garden department. The rest of us should check our batteries.

You may also have a suit against the contractor, unless you were doing the work yourself. Your insurance will probably cover cleaning and possibly even sending your clothes out to be done.

Anyone have any links for starting iris seeds? Especially methods that have worked for you personally. I have these rustX toilet tabs in my toilet, would probably kill the seeds.

Lewisburg, KY(Zone 6b)

Imazadi I am so sorry to hear about your home, BUT I am so thankful that you and your daughter are ok. Your right stuff can be replaced. If when you have a chance later on, you could post the seeds that you lost and we all would probably be able to help you out.

Trina and Critter thank-you for saying that! I totally agree. He's lower than dirt! There is not enough words to describe him.

She's had a lot thrown at her and a lot more to deal with in march or april. She will have to move back home because she will loose her home. She also lost 12 years of her memory when she had the 3rd surgery in May. Hasn't retuned and Drs are stumped. So...send some prayers her way if you have a chance.

Enjoying my seeds everyone! Thank you.

Leesburg, FL(Zone 9b)

how ironic... i got my "amazon.com email" this morning.... 40% off on 'detectors'
DH replaced all our batteries a few months back.

imzadi -- so sorry to hear of your ordeal... at least you are safe.

MamawK - what more can be said. Carolyn will be in mt T's & P's.

I cant belive it is takign this long for the boxe s to arrive. I don't knwo if it the weathe r or what, but the othe r day one of th ebig wigs from postal servic e wa s on tv saying abotu how they doign cut baks cuz they get no federal funds , but want to fo such a good job. Think it tiem to right off a letter. They rais e price s every coupel of months and I knwo they hae close d alot fo stations, using gathering stations to save on electrical and employee costs , but they keep up they gonna send themselve s right otu of business. Can ya tell I not a happy campe r with po this morning????? grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Leesburg, FL(Zone 9b)

Ella -- you shipped Priority, right? isnt' that guaranteed 3 days?

shipped on Tues, so technically - everyone should have had their box by Friday, Saturday at the latest.

Mix ups do happen ... and considering boxes made it to WA in 2 days... that's pretty good service.
I think if I had to wait until Monday - my panties would be in a twist....

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Thanks, Starlight! I'm not sweating the wait. :-)

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Hello everyone... so sorry for all the stress some of you are going through, and you'll all be in my prayers. Everyone! I am a big believer in prayer

I figured my mail man would deliver my box.. no box.. so DH went to our mailbox, and there was the slip from the PO... "sorry we missed you".... Well.. we were here all the time. We have a new mail "man", and it's apparent he doesn't like to hand deliver the boxes to the house. We are 1/4 mile off the road, but all the other post GIRLS came here, knowing I live plants, and would always leave my boxes in the shade even if we weren't home.. so I am grrrrrr . This town is population 576... NOT big, but I'm going to ask them when did Colmesneil get sooo metropolitan!!..LOL... sorry for the rant! I'll get my box on Monday.. TY again, and there was someone back up there that said it so well about how i feel about everyone of you!!

Southborough, MA(Zone 6a)

I got my box yesterday!!!
So excited to be planting such wonderful seeds. Thank you all for your generosity in sharing your seeds and bulbs. I feel like a kid in a candy store.
Ella- thank you for all the work you put into this swap. You are wonderful!

imzadi- I am so sorry to hear about your fire. Thankfully you and your daughter are ok.
I have lots of seeds to share now, so if you need anything don't hesitate to ask.

Seale, AL(Zone 8b)

Tcs.. Yep priority with confirmation stickers. I don't ship nothign anymor e with otu them even bubble r envie s get a sticke r on them.

Nope, I have argue s with different po people and priorty doesn't mean anythign more that they will wil try and get it to it's destination before say if it went first class, but there is no guareetnee. Priority means that they wil try and get it ther e in an abg of three days, but won't even start searching for a missing priority box til day 8. Ain' that soem garbage. And it not even liek they have al the holiday rush.

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Star, I have a package on the way to you. I mailed it this morning.
Let me know if you like it. Look for a mule on the box.

GardenQuilts .... What I have done to get Iris seeds going ... I get one of those frozen dinner black trays that has side walls that are about 1" plus in height and then I get a smaller tray thats not as tall on the sides maybe 1/4" to 1/2" and I put holes in it and set it in the base of the bigger tray and then I add soil on and around the smaller tray then plant the seeds and the add a thinner layer of soil. Then I water. Its like its own watering system ... Sometimes I'll put it on a heating pad .. but I don't let the soil dry out. But I did this with some Iris - Ceaser;s Brother .... they took about 3 to 4 weeks. But they sprouted nicely :D

Summerville, SC(Zone 8a)
