Opps that my fault, LOl I shouldnt' have poste d os many pics . ; )

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Oh, Ella, We loved the pictures. We wouldn't can anything, would we girls???
You did Fantastic.
Rides

Leesburg, FL(Zone 9b)

nope.. not your fault... we all enjoyed the "adventure".

Simpsonville, SC(Zone 7b)

Nope, wouldn't have wanted to miss the full adventure! Squealing in anticipation.... will my box get here in time for me to take it skiing? Can you imagine a little piggy box on the slopes? Hmm, well this little piggy will be, assuming I can shove all the pork into my ski pants! Sounds like a perfect after-ski evening, delving into the piggy box with a cup of hot cider in one hand and my computer in the other... not sure my family would agree?

Summerville, SC(Zone 8a)

Now all yall have to take your piggie boxe's in room and squeal with delight and who ever gets first before you lose yourself in room have to run to computer and say I made it and then Ella be on to her bucket and hopefully more than a couple make it and you can all squel together . And I be watching so no when to close ears off and just see happy faces on puter later, Lol The Queen , aka Ella will be tossing all the piggies in her little seed cells and smiling sure hope she got enough gallon baggies.
Did tell her I would surprise her with some seed planting today , dog we was susposed to go ice skating in my back pond and lol and behold looks like the ice maybe melting just a tiny bit. And Lea was susposed to come , Its okay going down again tonight figured we could at least win the America's most funniest vidio's with this one .
Hang in there seeds a coming!!
Carolyn

Port Norris, NJ(Zone 7b)

Ella
the pictures are really important to the story - I can't imagine you leaving them out - taking up room? HA !

I'm in a tizzy of anticipation I tell ya - my snout is telling me that they haven't yet arrived. Suppose I could wash the cells & pots to get ready but I've been too busy planning just Where I'm going to put them all. Don't want to be a greedy piggy asking for more than I have room for.

My DH bought a bucket truck last year to paint the house. Still not painted but he put up new gutters & trimmed some trees. Sooo long story short - thats how we're going to get the bat houses up that far when I finally finish
nailing them together.
We have a feral colony of cats thus don't have a squirrel problem. So don't know how your chatty squirrels would affect the sleeping bats.

Terese, Happy Birthday and may all your flowers bloom as sweet as you are.

Greenville, IN(Zone 6a)

Hi Carolyn, I still need to get seeds out to you lol Just need to go back and read the colors that you want :) I have a little baggie waiting for the rest of the seeds have a few in there already. Glad to hear you are planting today tell us what you are sowing :)

I just sterilized some dirt I have this white mold again this year and already have some lisanthus seeds started and it's getting the mold! I sterlized the dirt! I wasn't going to start any begonias yet because they always get so hard to transplant getting so big at the bottom with the leaves but out of boredom think I will anyway :) Going to go ahead and plant my dusty miller too it's never big enough when I take it out in the spring to harden off from starting it in late Feb. early March. When does everyone else start theirs?

Happy Birthday Terese! Hope you have had a good day sounds like you started it out right and spoiled with the DH making you breakfast it sure sounded good too! Have you started any seeds yet :)

Ella don't blame yourself for that long thread getting to 200 already we want to see those pictures that why we sent you the batteries, some of us have been waiting all year to see the pctures of your trip to the PO this year! LOL Now we are looking forward to the pictures for next year lol OOPS getting ahead a bit aren't I LOL You could be our Piggy Queen forever and I do think we would all love it! All of that hard work and you do it so well thank you! Thanks to all the piggies that shared the trough too :) There may have been a little squeezing in there a time or two and some snorting at each other but wasn't it fun!

Port Norris, NJ(Zone 7b)

Ella, Bat houses need to be a minimum of 20 feet off the ground.

Re: Companion planting - Wouldn't the good bugs be attracted to the flowers anyway? Thought aphids & other nasties were a given unless you used strong pesticides.

Buckley, WA(Zone 7b)

Happy Birthday Tcs!!!!!

Leesburg, FL(Zone 9b)

Montrose, AR(Zone 8a)

Happy Birthday tcs1366 Hope you had a great day...

Hope everyone else had a great day also..we had a lil sunshine, but its clouding up and the weatherman is calling for rain... sigh...

Greenville, IN(Zone 6a)

We have sun shine coming for a change it's been in the teens or lower they said for nineteen days! It's going to be 37 tomorrow I plan on getting some sun one way or another LOL

I remember now Terese that you sowed them a while back I wrote a reply about the bread ties and lost it and never went back in :) I do those ties in the spring when it's raining a lot but I'm afraid to in the winter when it could be dry I just use the duck tape for winter I would love to get away from it but it is breezy here all the time just about. We're suppose to have a dry winter this year and figure it will help to put the tape on for moisture.

Ella are those poppies? Is that snow? My eyes aren't that good! Looks like snow and poppies :)

Jackson, SC(Zone 8a)

Have any of you looked at Value Seeds site lately? T&M has closed it down and directs you to a new site. A new T&M sale site. I looked and most of them are $1.99 and $2.99. I just looked at the first couple of pages. Don't know about their shipping.

Guess I will delete them from my addresses.

Jeanette

happy birthday tcs hope your day was nice

Seale, AL(Zone 8b)

Hey Watch out for value seed site. I ha d bought seed son there and neve r ha d a problem before. But shortly afte r I bought and paid for seed s on thei rsite I got this giant gavanii ( sp) coffee machien show up in myyard. I ha d ups take it back and abotu a week later I got a card in mail from coffee company sayign that ha d receive dit and to call as to why. Well I did and foudn out it wa s charged to oen of my cards, with someone els e email addy . Now that card ha d not been use d in months and that wa s the onyl purchas e on it. I went to bank and turne d it in for fraud and got my money back. So I aint going to value seeds no more. Can't prove it wa s ther e site , but when it the oly plac e ya go make s me mighty suspicious.

Imazadi... You were not a fat piggy in fact I owe ya a coupel of seeds and been up this mornign tryign to clean up things aroudn here. I not a neat organized seed person. I throw all my seed in walmart bags, stuff in fridge and then go bezerk when I tryign to find again. Every year I say I gona organiz e and alphabetize and do I nope. Any ways, I foudn the bag that I had my seed in to make mroe for thos e fe w that i had missed. I am so happy this morning. : )

I'll be goign to walmart over the weekend and wil get soem more small bubbler envie s and get them otu to ya folks next week.

New piggy always go soem overboard, that wa s nto the main problem We had a coupel of piggie s that had liek oinked 400-500 packets. Thos e are the oens I mainly talkign about. I had to wean them back some. Don't want yoru colestrol goign sky high there. Ya gott a stay healthy to plant what ya got. LOL

leBug.. Ya dream on that the whit e is snow but nope them is Dahlias. That when they first starte d up . Actually it a white trash bag I cut em in half and put unde r my seed trays inth eflats befoe Iput under the lights. That them in the back now and today they wil get transplanted up.

That remind s me thos e who got the Verbascum Temptres s Whit e seed from me. Doing th ebaggy methos they only took thre e to pop up and watch cuz if ya don't get them out fast enough they will strech on ya. So now I gott a resow some.

Have ya ever had some seed and curiosity got the better of ya so ya just had to plant it? I had gotten soem extra seed from Sumemrhill , Varigated Cat Grass. Well, I opene d it up and plant soem and packe d the rest up and threw in tcs trough.

Now I am thinking , actually nto sur e what I was thinking, but for soem reason I had cat plant in my head. I googled and realize d what I thought I was plantign was goign to be Nepeta. Some how the word grass did not register in my brain, onyl the word cat seed.

I thought great, I plant a few and put em out side and mayeb it wil keep the feral cats away from udner my trailer and away from my stuff.

I plante d the seed and in two days i had sprouts. Now thes e sprout s looke d like they had taken a bath in clorox, they was so glowign white and bright , just abotu hurt the eye s to look at them.

A coupel of green lookign ones came up and oen that was varigate d but for the most part they all this ghostly lookign white.

Well they gre and they grew and they grew. They up to my light s now and I lookign at this trya and am wondering oh geez what do I do now. Houston I got a problem!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now I don't even have regula r grass in ym yard , it all weeds and such. So to have a tray of grass I have no ide a what to do. If I transplant them wil they spread out or just stay a single blade.

Do I get the lawn mower out and put tray in yard and giv e them a hair cut. Wil that make em branch out. I gott a do somethgin with them and just am drawign major major blank.

Only thing I cna think of is wonderign if this could be the next new bio-fuel LOL

So I need help! Somebody giv eme some ideas please!!!!!! I gott a do somethign before the cats unde r the trailer realiz e they here and decide to come in the trailer and decide to munch go bezerk and pass otu on my bed. teach me to reasearch or read the package label better. LOL

tcs. Her e what they gonan look like.

Happy Birthday Terese! ^_^

Star, haven't grown it but here's a little info, Hordeum vulgare 'variegata': http://www.territorialseed.com/product/9882/herb_seed?r=JWDAVEG

Hmmm, I wonder if I'll get my piggy box in a few hours! Thanks for all your work and narratives Star! :)

GA, GA(Zone 7b)

Oh, Hordeum vulgare is just the Latin name for Barley. So it will be an annual grass. Hey, you can always make beer with it! :)

Summerville, SC(Zone 8a)

Star,
that would be awesome in combo pot sure is pretty. I know susposed to make a list of it and what plants to put in with it lol. I really need to get this dusty miller going like Lea said because think would go great in combo pot. Can just go grab up out the yard.
Carolyn

Leesburg, FL(Zone 9b)

Cool thanks Ella !! i just googled it and found this Within a week, you will have cat grass ready to go. Provides vitamins and fiber for your cat’s diet and keeps them from chewing on your prized house plants.

which is very cool because little man literally ATE a plant, all that was left was a half inch stub. I was pissed as i had no idea what it even was, and i have been babying it... i think i even saw some little buds where it was gonna bloom .... then not 30 min later, it was completely GONE. I never even got a photo of it.

Summerville, SC(Zone 8a)

tcs,
When my sister was alive and doing her seedling and of course she had cats ahe always did a tray full of cat grass and they munched away at that instea of her plants ,
Ella you need to plant a bunch before the hill that all those cats come down and go under the trailor maybe they just sit and wait for next crop. Hey make them happy and save the trailor and insulation.
Carolyn

Seale, AL(Zone 8b)

What I afriad of is , and sure as shootign it wil happen, cuz ya all knwo it it weir d or unsual it gonan happen to me, I would put out and would have a thousand cats and kittens show up for oen measly tray of cat grass. : )

rcs. Knwo what ya mean abotu animals eating I had some small shrubs in pots and the dogs came adn ate leaves and stems and ate all the way down to nubs. Had fits. Forgot what it was , but remmebere d it mad e the fruit for the bird s that woudl get them drunk after eating. The dogs went bezerk chewign them up. Was gla d they didnt get sick from them.

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

You better do something, they crawl up there and have kittens.
Then you will have problems for your problems. And girl, you have too many problems.

Jackson, SC(Zone 8a)

hmm thats how i got my haven of cats. we bought a trailor off a lot by a reptubale dealer and come home with 2 cats and a litter. didnt know they were up in it till saw them a few days later.

i have one cat left out of that mess and he is fifteen. now at new house i have a haven full due to people up street has too many and some decided they like it here better and a few rescues.

Jackson, SC(Zone 8a)

my post office dont run till 10 oh the wait to go up there.

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

They knew a good home when they saw it. I figure with Ella's luck she will have a
trailer full. Poor girl....

Seale, AL(Zone 8b)

If I would have thought should have sent the long hauler s out tueday and save d evrybody close til yesterday or today that way evrybody woudl have arrive d clos e together. The logn haulers gonan have probably a another day or so before they get especially if lots of snow.

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Ella, I am so ready to see what I got. We are all waiting for that first "Igot my box" I am not very patient.I don't know how you can be so patient.
Stay away from those cats. I can see my little donkeys wth a cat. They would grab them by the tail and Sling them away. Want to borrow a donkey????

Simpsonville, SC(Zone 7b)

:) I did once chase down the UPS truck where I knew he stopped for lunch, since I had missed a delivery that had a new computer on it! He was actually really nice! But, I'm home now, and mail should come in an hour or so... but maybe not until tomorrow, as I'm a little further away... we'll see!
