here is the start of the trail i go xc-skiing on today

long straight away a snow mobile used yesterday makes for a smooth slide

here is a beaver pond - you have to ski over the beaver dam to get by this

and taken from the other side of the fallen tree

some slow going getting through these hemlocks bent over and covered with snow.

thx jen - really could not set up a good picture - was standing in my ski's holding on to a pine tree with one arm and leaning over the river bank and stretching to try and get off a decent picture - there was a a 10 ft. drop to the river waiting for me - glad i did not get wet:) and happy the shot came out acceptable.

not supposed to be b&w - between the overcast sky's and tree cover the light was not great today

me to jan - also had to ski through the woods and brush to get to the river, there are a lot of post card opportunities when you have trees covered in snow like that - hopefully the snow will stay and some blue ski's will come for better pictures.

need to get a camera waist case - jury rigged my camera case strap to fit around my waist so i could ski with it - it will not hold up to that for long.

because i'm really, really good with automatic exposure, in this case landscape mode, and zoom control:)
