Ya or Yay?!
Sports Talk!!
I'm not sure. It was too burpish to decipher but he's definitely perky about the 'sports' thing.
I consider drinking a sport.
So does my DH ^_^ He left for pool league tonight feeling a whole lot better about my DG 'gardening' obsession. ps note to all: my DH is my back who turns the compost and digs out feetages of grass for me and is making our stone patio. Although he is not a gardener, he is garden friendly. Just wanted to be sure that no one though he was a chump although he does burp alot which can be considered sportish but not chumpish.
Lots of 'ish'.
Well if you can't take the 'ish' you're obviously not Irish and since you're Italian nough said.
I'm 1/4 Irish. The rest is skittish. Maybe a little Yiddish.
I'm Austrian/English but I'm trying to learn southern. Good thing that I can giggle along with the southern folks when I wing it ^_^
Love the fact that even though he's not a gardener he's garden friendly, wish I could say the same about mine.
Bet he ooos and ahhs and doesn't even know he's doin it dear flowerjen. Sometimes its just about that. I just watch my DH and although he swears he cares less, he sits in the garden. Sometimes the garden just sneaks up on them. Sometimes they just have to discover the garden on their own. Just a thought.
Pah, ain't gonna happen.
Pah twill be so. When he is wondering where is beluved? and you're in the garden..... and it is SO beautious..... which it is... Pah! Methinks twould be best if you hide so he has to seek you in the garden. Pah! ok this sounds so romanic I'm getting misty sigh.
You're too funny. I asked him if he's working next Saturday and his reply "what garden thing are you going to now?"
that's funny jen
What was your answer?
A seed swap
Hi Folks! The new thread caught my eye , so I thought I'd drop in here and get the scuttlebut from those Yankee fans. Nice thread idea, Victor. Folks in MA weren't responsive to sports comments either, which is why I started the game thread. Not much scuttlebut gained, but I like the conversation.
Dahlianut, I've been to the Olympic Park in Calgary, very nice. I also got to watch some climbers practising on Assinnibinni. I'm sure I butchered that spelling.
Welcome storm! Good to see you again. I love the way you spelled that!
Thanks Victor. The one winter sport, I've never seen in person is Curling. It's not consistantly cold enough in SE Pa to always have ice. I would love to go north and see it sometime. Last February I tried to find a horse drawn sleigh ride in the Poconos. There were none to be had. They all said there had to be at least 6" of snow everywhere to take the sleighs out. It must have been an odd year because there is usually a lot more snow up there than that.
Curling is pretty funny to watch. Looks like crazed neat freaks.
LOL I'd love to see it. I have seen it on TV, but it's never the same as in person.
I've been to a Brier (Super Bowl of Curling). I also used to play it. You get to wear cool shoes and yell 'SWEEEEP' which is very stress relieving. Please wish for snow stormyla as the PNW is melting :( The flame comes through Cowtown on Monday ^_^
Dahlianut, I ALWAYS wish for snow. Love it! I am spoiled, I never have to drive in it. Didn't know they had women's curling teams.
Dahlianut, Is there no snow in Banff?
Thanks everso.Tournament of Hearts. Babes with Rocks ^_^ Although I am still rooting for Babes on Bulls in Rodeo. Onewish is a kickbutt Barrell Racer (retired now) as you probably know who also might vote for Babes on Bulls. Do you like rodeo stormyla?
Yupper we have TONS cuz we're on the right side of the big rocks. Skiing is fabby here right now. Vancouver is on the rain side of the big rocks. Big diff.
Yes, I like Rodeo. My father's family are ranchers. Their great big old Charlay never liked me. I kept my distance.
Dnut, we did some skiing at Sun Peaks in Kamloops a few years ago, it was very gorgeous at the top of the mountain. And we had 1 day with a couple feet of fresh powder - so much fun.
I enjoy the Olympics & only 3 hr time difference this time around should be more helpful. When I saw curling as a kid they were still using straw brooms. The commontators on TV can be annoying; also those who set it up because they think that we want towatch other things besides the sports.
Football TV (college) has deteriorated because except for bowl games, no longer show the bands at the half. Might be interested in scores of other games, but not all the statistics. Show the bands!
I'm so glad I can get the Olymics from Canada on TV. They show the sports all day long, not just at night.
Figured NO and Indiana would win. I think the Cowboys will win. Iffy on the Jets.
Happy Birthday Ali!
Man, Favre is six years younger than me and looks about ten years older!
Viking defensive line is dominating the Cowboy offensive line. The first Rice TD was a great catch!
That was a great catch - I don't think the defense knew he caught it.
He didn't.
I'm watching skating on CBC (canada) instead. Don't care much for pro football.
So far so good with the games this weekend, I'm not sure who to root for next game.
And next week, I like both the Saints and the Vikings, maybe the Saints a little bit more.
Will be tough against the Saints. Vikes struggle when away. But if the D plays anywhere near the same, they can do it. The last TD pass was petty. I'm old school.
I still liked it, I don't like Romo, he's a baby.
I agree. Never liked Dallas. Bring back Jessica Simpson!
