i am unsuccesfull in growing seeds they sprout and then dye i place then near a window in small pots and water them i sprinklie them on the soil and press them litely in this is what i do please inform me if i do something wrong thank you

You should not put them in direct sunlight, they will get fried. Grow lights work best or indirect bright light.

Damping off would be another possibility--I don't know how closely you examined the seedlings before they died, but if the base of the stem looked pinched in and narrower than the top part of the stem that is a symptom of damping off. Basically it's a fungal problem which can be caused by too much moisture--although seedlings shouldn't be allowed to completely dry out, they are very easy to overwater and that is one of the most common problems that people have with seed starting.

I wonder what kind of seeds you are planting?
Differnt seeds are planted at different depths. Tiny seeds are mostly on top of soil. but bigger seeds are usually planted deeper.
