I am watering my mom's plants while she is on vacation, I went in the other day and the house was freezing, my mom has had this peace lily for as long as I can remember and the leaves I think froze, Do I take all the dead ones? On some of the brown leave the stems are still really green. There are still a lot of live leaves... Help please I don't want her to come home with a plant looking like this. I moved it to my house so it is warmer and I can give it more attention.
Peace lily
Was the plant left outside? The foliage is definitely showing cold damage and may continue to show more over the next week or so but I wouldn't give up on it just yet. I don't know if it will hurt to remove the damaged leaves and I see some green stems peeking through so I think the plant has a good chance of survival. The Spathiphyllum doesn't like temperatures below @ 60ºF but if it was just in the cold for a short time and the roots weren't frozen it might be okay. I'd keep it in a warm location and water with room temperature water.
