Daily Pics Vol. 272

Sandusky, OH

Nice shots Dellrose and Adel! Wish I had Acorn WP's around here, really like their color pattern.

A couple of shots from today, an injured Grackle stayed around all day. From what I can see he has somehow gotten a stick jammed into his cheek (inside), he was trying to get it out all day between feedings, and last I looked it was gone. not going to post bad side though.

Juvenile Cooper's Hawk, not Mr.Cooper. Both were nearly on the same branch but at different times yesterday.

PERTH, Australia

This morning a group of White-tailed Black Cockatoos stopped by for a drink, a quick freshen-up and a snack before continuing on their merry way. Here's one in one of the bird baths, taken from inside the house.

The first one was joined by a friend. It is such a privilege to have these beautiful birds drop by.

A young Kookaburra was dozing in the big gum tree at the osprey nest site this afternoon.

But I threw some stones at it and it woke up. (Just kidding)

Oh my Margaret...awesome shots of both birds. I don't believe I've ever seen the White-tailed and I love the sound of the Kookaburra!

Right now the wind chill is moocho below zero...I am going to the brush pile to see what's up!!

Rose, that color on the grackle looks like my hair after I stopped highlighting it!! LOL

Adel, those turkeys sure look healthy. Congrats on the wp at your feeder-it's adorable. Cute House Finch, I wouldn't have been able to tell the difference. That Spotted Towhee is gorgeous-nice job.

Burd, poor grackle, hope it was able to get that stick out. Beautiful doves and junco. Great hawk shots.

Margaret, your Cocatoos are beautiful. I can't imagine them out in the wild on their own. And that Kookaburra-gorgeous!

I think this is a Nuttal's Woodpecker that showed up just outside our garden.

We have numerous visitors now to our third floor balcony.
The cats love it!

Some we aren't sure the names of, and I know you all can help us.
