This Brown-headed Nuthatch was not sure if he wanted me to get any closer.

As I remained still he continued his search for that special hulled sunflower seed and found it.

Frank...I want that little nuthatch...and wouldn't mind a Pine Warbler either! lol

Burd, your Elvis reminds me of the female RBW we used to have here. I had named her Sassy. She took no nonsense from anyone!

South Hamilton, MA

Congratulations on the piliated wp Nanny. We had only seen ours in summer, but not since a birch trunk came down. What's a poor tree to do when full of piliated holes. Mainly titmice around here lately.

Marlton, NJ

Great pics Frank and Burd!

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

This Scrub Jay had his eye on an ear of corn which we attached to the peanut butter log but he couldn't get to it. I did end up putting one up on another feeder for him, but he didn't want that one.

These Dark eyed Juncos are so pretty, I can't stop taking their pictures.

BEE-UUUU-TEEE-FUL, Duc!

Do you ever get the other forms of Juncos or just the Oregon Dark-Eyed?

Columbus, GA(Zone 8a)

Wow, look at all the great photos!

dellrose - Wow, I'd say you have more than your fair share of Goldfinches.

f_chisolm - that Bluebird's color is stunning.

Burd_Fotos - I am amazed at the number and variety of birds you captured. I especially like the White-breasted NH

ducbucln - recently a Dark-eyed Junco was scored as a Lifer for me, but now I see them regularly. They must have arrived at the same time.

Yesterday, I photographed 8 different kinds of birds in about an hour of sitting in my blind (my car).

Here's a male House Finch.

Beautiful shots Burd, Frank and Duc...I am jealous of the Red-breasted and Brown-headed Nuthatches, would love to see one someday.

Duc...you and that 7D have definitely bonded!!

A late window shot of my most favorite bird...female Eastern Bluebird.

Nice shots Hack!

Hack, your shots get better every time I see them!

Duc, your 7D gets really sharp photo's!

Dellrose, nice shot of the E. BB!

Frank, to see a Warbler gets my blood flowing, my favorite species of bird.

Two new visitors today, Common Grackle, and a Mourning Dove. No biggie but new to the feed area. I didn't realize how fast a Sharp-shinned Hawk can move watched one take a Starling, I was not set up yet so no pics. I'll post a few shots later.

Marlton, NJ

Hack, Have you gotten my D mails I've been sending you??

Great shots guys! Dark and blustery here today.

Columbus, GA(Zone 8a)

Mrs_Ed - I really like the way the sun is shining on that White-breasted nuthatch, nice composition..

Burd_Fotos - thanks for the compliment. I'm slowly getting to know my 40D. Long learning curve. Using the M mode more often, but from what I read recently about exposure modes, I think I'm going to used Av a lot more.

Hey, pelle, I didn't have a clue that you'd been D-mailing me. Nothing appeared, as it usually does, at the top of my screen alerting me I had new D-mail. In fact, I found one from f_chisolm also. Anyway, I replied back to you in the affirmative.

Rose, I love the photo of your fluffy bluebird.

Hack, cute chickadee, and that lighter colored towhee is really different. Great job on the action titmouse!

This Common Grackle reminds me of the time I decided to highlight my hair at home...big mistake!!
