Frank, I'm so glad to hear you didn't get any more serious injuries, although it probably doesn't feel like that now. That light pole could have fallen on your car and you. Take it easy and feel better soon. I cut in on your photos, your finches are equally adorable.
Pelle, your gentleman cardinal is beautiful, even through the window and your wp looks like he's winking at you-adorable. Ms. cardinal is pretty too and I love the starling. For some reason my starlings aren't coming to the feeders or the two suets anymore and look what you have! I'll trade some of mine for some of yours-it looks like you have some to spare!
Nanny, cute wren and nuthatch. Have you noticed which one of the two usually wins? I've noticed our nuthatches are pretty tough birds.
This immature Bald Eagle keeps flying past us and sitting on the same tree below our house as the adult eagles use. I guess they've learned which trees have the best lookouts.
Daily Pics Vol. 272
I think those light poles move around some in the parking lot. I am not the first person to hit one of them either early morning or late afternoon.
The sun is bright here today and the temp. is up a little to 38. I guess the birds ate extra yesterday because there are few here today. I guess they will be back in a couple of days when the temp. drops again.
f_chisolm - I hope you recover quickly. Though, I've never done it, hitting a pole is not an uncommon event. Glad you're "okay".
dellrose - Nice start to the new thread and the White-breasted Nuthatch looks real good.
thebestmissy - Nice collection of ducks. The only one I have seen around here is the American Coot.
reddirtretiree - about the bird you can count on seeing every day, I guess it's a pet. What kind is it? I like its color.
pelletory - that wure is a pretty Cardinal at your heated bird bath. Mine is frozen, least it was this morning, hopefully it'll thaw out later today.
nanny_56 - you've been busy with the camera. That was a nice capture of the male Pileated Woodpecker. I've never seen one in person.
I took me some pics today, will be posting them a later.
Hack
You all have been very busy...nice to see so many contributions.
Missy...nice shore birds and I love the Marsh Wren.
Frank, Red and Hack..I'm glad to see someone is getting House Finches...ours have been scarce this winter.
Margaret..Gorgeous Honeyeater, such a beautiful bird.
Burn...Very pretty Blue Jay. I almost bought a feeder like your pretty white one...still may go back and get since I have no feeders! LOL!
Duc...Great shots and I agree that Junco is a hanger.
Pelle...Nice shots, that little Cardinal is so pretty on the heated bird bath. Our Starlings are also increasing in numbers.
Nanny...You have been busy and it is always a pleasure to see the great variety you get in your yard. How lucky to have the Pileated so close that you can get a shot!
Hack...Nice set and a great variety also!
Frank...Sorry about your accident but hope you are on the mend.
We have 2 female Red-bellied Woodpeckers and this one will "let" the Starlings eat on one side of the suet feeder.
Duc...you didn't cut in at all I was done! ANd the Nuthatches tend to when any of their most disputes they have!
Nice Hack you have there. Towhees stay here but are rearely seen in winter. But occasionally I will get a glimpse of one on the brush.
Love the RBW Rose!
If I hadn't been yacking on the phone and looking out the window I would have missed the Pileated! LOL
Great pics burd!
