Thanks guys! It feels like something new is blooming every week! I'm praying that I will be able to maintain these beauties after warm weather hits.
Sue, you bet I want those babies! Ahem! Velma is gorgeous too. LOL

(Lynn) Omaha, NE(Zone 5a)

So lovely Shanika!! You are becoming a "Strep. Queen".LOL and Susan is the "Strep. Empress" ( or whatever word LOL)

Lynn

Danville, VA(Zone 7a)

Thanks Lynn, but I keep the name Strep killer... I kinda fits LOL Shanika, I will see if Velma has a leaf big enough to cut as I gave them all a chopping not so long ago... If not will let her grow out and then you will have your leaf... My MIL who is 73 now has the crud be have so I will try and get to the post office either on Sat or Monday to post the plants to you..... Already kinda knew you would want them and took a box home from work that will just the right size...LOL
Ok I am tired and MIL is sleeping next to me snoring... Bless her heart... So long as she gets better... I take her for a chest xray in the morning... She hates hospitals and doc did mention it today but I told him I was off work for the next 4 days and would tend to her... Told him have done this more then once to a Mom... He got this funny look in his eyes and said is your husband Kevin ? I said yup and I was going to keep him.... Except that he had to go to the curb so his mom could sleep in our room where things are together and just easier then her room.... He said this is not your Mother? I said no this is Mary my husbands Mom... He looked at Mary and said I wish half our patients had this good of care at home and she's not your daughter.... He say you are very lucky to have such a good daughter in... I said you know it runs both ways... She is a very good Mother to me... I told him we are lucky to get one good Mom in life and I have been blessed with two.... I am the caregiver in this family... This I can do but I have to make sure I tend to me this next several days as I don't want to go down hill instead of keep going up... This crud in your lung and snius kill ya... I hate it..
Ok whined to you fine ladies enough and thanks for the ear....

Well ladies talk with you tomorrow...
Love ya,
Susan

Danville, VA(Zone 7a)

Shanika, The red strep bloom my be either B. Boo Boo Or B. Hot rod... I think the one you post up further does look like Fernwood's Cherry Jubilee and I did have it but guess what??? yup my mommma plant kicked the bucket... I may be begging for a leaf Shanika...LOL
Ok off to bed..
Love ,
Susan

Nottingham, MD(Zone 7a)

Your family is lucky to have you Susan! I'm glad you are feeling better. One of the worst things is to have that crud. You feel lousy and can't sleep well either. Yuck!

Of course I will send you a leaf of FCJ! I didn't know you were a strep a killer Susan. Yours always look so great.:)

Andalusia, AL(Zone 8b)

Hey lady,Strep killer is my name and you can't have it,but I am getting better.LOL ^_^

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

If you get better, then you must resign from the Strep-Killers Club---it's in the bylaws!

(Lynn) Omaha, NE(Zone 5a)

I am one of the premier members LOL.

Susan,
You have always been a special person. No wonder the doctor saw that in you !!

Lynn

Danville, VA(Zone 7a)

Thank you Lynn, there are days I get upset with others like her daughter who does nothing... But thank you for the kind words... She is worth it and if she had to go to the hospital I would not be able to stay with her to help her like here because my chest still has crud in it and the smells of the hospital would make it worse... So she is resting nicely and no fever since early last night and the mucus in her chest is breaking up and coming up... so if she stays this way she will not need to go to the hospital tomorrow.... She is snoring again next to me as I type.... I am tired tonight... I have to stay up to wake her up at 10. to give her some meds and then that is it for the night...
For me being a strep killer...LOLOLOL I have killed more streps in the last three years then I care to admit... You can ask anyone here that I can kill a strep in 3.1 seconds...LOLOLOL I have a few others blooming now and will try to get a picture or two tomorrow.... Oh and Shanika Velma has a leaf big enough to send when I get to the post with the plants... Oh Jan, move your butt over with the name because I think a few of us clam it... ;-)
Ok going to read for a few then to sleep ... Talk with you all tomorrow...
Hugs,
Susan

I am the Dr. Kevorkian of streps. I don't kill them, I just enable them to die on their own. I really do give them kindness and care in their last days, and I like to think that it helps them pass over to strept heaven happily. When another one passes , I know it joins it's many beautiful brothers and sisters that have gone before it in a noble cause. That noble cause is continueing and someday , there will be peace in valley and strepts on Lou's shelves. Lou

(Lynn) Omaha, NE(Zone 5a)

Chicago, IL

I keep looking at these pictures and want to try these but you have all scared me to death that I'll be the grim reaper. Shoot.

What makes streps so hard to grow?

Danville, VA(Zone 7a)

Lou, Thats a joke as I have killed more of my plants in the last 3 or so months ....LOL Family has a way of getting in the way of me and my plants.... I have killed allot with over watering them.... Some are coming back around....
Hugs,
Susan

Danville, VA(Zone 7a)

They like a certain temp... To hot and there out the door to cold and the same....LOL To much water and they rot to little and they wilt... BUT I love them and have had a bad time of it lately but most of the time I can grow them pretty well now...LOL
