CHICKSS Sulking Queue part 2
Well one of rhw links I posted were of Chicken Pot Holders, and it does say if you leave a space on the bottem it will double as a wash cloth. Thats poultry
Miss J said 'OH I have found the hat of my dreams... It is a knit one though..
http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/90193AD.html?noImages='
What color would you like?
Loreen
Oh just to have a hat like that I would not care what color it was.
I am forlorn and san sparkley yarnage. I stopped into a yarnage place and all the sparkley yarnage was scratchy as in 'wood treatment' or 'racoon deterent' :O One canst make sparkley pompoms with thus or that.
♫ O where or where has the soft sparkley yarnage gone
O where or where can it beeeee? ♫
Raccoon deterrent? Sounds rather forbidding!
Dahlia, I know I still have to make you sparkly yarnage. I promised before and it will be done. Of course, the sparkly bits do add a little scratchiness because they are sort of metallic-y. I can do it with icicle instead, which is sort of shiny rather than sparkly, if you know what I mean. Hmmm, I will have to take a picture to show what I mean....will try to remember tonight.
Any one thaw out yet??? It was in the 60's here today. We hit a record of 12-13 days of freezing weather. Now we are going to be drowned!!!! LOL
its in the low 50's here.. the yard is so wet that I sink about 3 inches or more & skate across it (mud) everytime i try to go downhill to the chicken coop. Rubber boots are a must.
Yup, warmer and a lot wetter here.
Darn that storm is on the way here.
I wish it would rain.. snow.. something. I ache so bad from the weather change i'd welcome cold weather again.. besides a nice hard freeze would freeze mud as well & I could walk without breaking my neck! a front is coming in tonight with drizzle & freezing fog supposedly.. we'll see.
We had quite a bit of melt and it's finally above freezing for a little bit the last few days. It has been a nice change.
Still working on Batflower's scarf. I'm so stupidly slow...
No problem Claire.....It's to warm for a scarf right now anyway...and its wet here too. in fact, we had a burst pipe last night so its wet indoor and out, LOL!
You need waterwings GreyKitten. You can zip across everything with waterwings (hot pink waterwings are best). Put them on and put your back to the wind and you will ziiiiiippppp. ps DANGER! don't wear them near a hot oven. If you blow one up you will just go round and round in circles unless you have a paddle and do the j-stroke. Even so you will be still be sad cuz you kaboomied a prettiful waterwing :(
How will Cousin Dahlianut make mud pies in the desert? There will be a special drought tax on waterwings....Not sure this has been thought out completely.....
It's windy in the desert Cousin Catscan. Waterwings have been very misconstrued and are mostly confusedly by the 'water' part of their name. They should be called windwings. Much like ducks. They are very sad about being called 'water' birds. I think they would like to be falcons and would be cept they have been misnamed, but that is just MPO because I don't have ducks but I could have falcons in the desert QUACK!
Tumbleweeds may be an effective substitute, Dahls. Properly bedeckt and bedizened they'd surely be gloriously prettiful and musical...
I COULD have a flock of tumbleweeds ^_^ Methinks I would need a big coop?
Unless you let them free range...
It is true that tumbleweeds could be substituted for the incorrectly termed "water fowl", but for mud pies...no.
Still the tinkelation and scintillation of the bedizened and carilonated artemisia balls should make up for the lack of dirt putty.
And when the breeze blows you might follow them bedecked in your own hot pink wind wings, skimming the lone prairie....alert always for the Evil Barb the Barbarrier.
OMG the Evil Barb :O I saw many of such in the desert :O I like the idea of free ranging tumbles. Methinks if I relaxed I could also tumble as well as skim as long as I kept my wings in the air. I'm also seeing myself astride a horse (a very kind and forgiving horse).
I've been enjoying my scarf muchly on those cold days! Howsomever, it's been near the 50s here for a couple of days!
LOL Oh I want to let you know about decorating with Tumbleweeds..
Insert t-post in ground. Select 3 tumbleweeds in sizes ranging from small to large. Insert Largest one on Bottom, Middle in the Middle and smallest on top. Finish off with a scarf, Hat and sticks for arms and mittens... WELLLA a desert Snowman...
Hey all you are sending us your smow and rain, we are in for a week of storms, and snow in the higher elevations... Been cleaning up all around outside incase I get stuck inside...
yes i do need water wings.. this mud is starting to get annoying & now we have thunderstorms headed this way (from AZ I'm assuming) late this week. I think i need to invest in a pair of waders along with a pair of bib coveralls for when its snowy. Its funny.. Come spring they hate them but right now they are rejoicing bc of a Thunderstorm instead of snow... I wonder what they will think if we end up with January tornadoes... (which can happen.), bet they would have been happy for the snow then!
We had a nice 58 degree, damp, cold day yesterday. Smelled like spring, birdies were singing like spring.. so i went out & sat on a board with my chickies & had a lovely hour of getting to know each other via the biscuits & cookies in my pocket. It was nice to be able to just sit with them again. Been too cold.
greykitten please don't say t*o*r*n*a*d*o out loud. They can read and might hone in on you :O
well to be honest.. i think they have our address on a file card in their little "please hit these areas book".... Just wait till o.. about May.. then you'll hear me screaming & running for a hole in the ground.
ZZ great news!!!!!
o.. I love the colors on Rusty! He's quite a pretty little thing. Superman is adorable as well.
Oh ZZ, you know where you can bring your "leftover" chickens.....right?!
ZZ how good to hear from you... WIll you be coming down I 40 anytime soon?
OK now who ordered the rain?? it is storming like crazy which means I will have to wade thru the muck tomorrow to feed, and drive around to feed the mustang instead of wading thru to her pen.. LOLOL good thing I have coveralls... Good think I fixed the dog area on sunday, Zipper will be out of the rain in his cage, covered with plastic top, and Boozer her Igloo is fixed and facing Zipper...
We don't need more rain either and it will be heading here next. This winter has been just as cold and wet as the summer was hot and dry.
Yea, the rain is heading this way, oh how I dread that mess.. I may have to get with Claire and find out how to wash a live angora goat prior to shearing..
Tee hee, that was a fun time. Hope you have a tub. Also, not too much agitation because you don't want to felt the fleece on the goat.
I'm sure you don't want to dry him on high either....lol.
Woolite? Fabric softener?
I wish the rain would hurry up.. my joints hurt. :(
I'm with you, greykitten! Some mornings I can barely walk!
