Assuming they have been stored well, how long will cuke and tomato seeds remain viable? I've had tomato seeds germinate after 5 years of storing. Is this about the norm or is it unusual? I have NO idea how long cucumbers seeds will keep. Anyone know? TIA!

Tomatoes 4 years
Cuc's 5 years
re Nancy Bubel's "New Seed Starters Handbook"
I know of some Brandywines that germinated and grew that the seeds were purchased in 94 and the seeds planted in 01.

I've had tomato seeds for upwards of seven or eight years that have still germinated for me.

Thanx guys. Actually, a year ago I was debating whether to buy the Powell or Bubel book. I bought the Powell....not realizing it didn't include vegetables!
