I have alot of Daturas. I brought them in over the winter. (This was my first year growing them). Anyhow, I was thinking, based on the amount of seeds I got from them, I think they may work as a annual in my zone. I am in zone 6a but only 1 1/2 miles out of zone 6b. Has anyone tried this? I bet they would probably self seed each year if planted in the ground. If anyone has tried this, let me know how it worked out. Or if any of the more experienced gardener have any thoughts, please post them! Thanks.
Datura qustion
dixielol: I have had daturas for many years but I am in zone 8a. They will self seed but in your zone I would suggest saving the seeds and planting them after your last frost.
One seed pod should contain hundreds of seeds when dried out. You do have daturas and not brugmansias, right? Let me hear from you.

Yes, I have Datura's not Brugs. Well, I do have 2 Brugs but am sure they wouldn't make it through the winter outside in my zone.
I am thinking about just planting all Datura's outside next year & saveing seeds. That way, I can enter it in the comments on plantfiles which ones self seed in my zone. Just in case there are other "zone pushers" out there like me that are curious :)
Thanks for the info.
