Message from SingingWolf

She wanted me to let everyone know that she hasn't been online for a few days due to computer problems. She wants everyone to know that she is ok and not to worry.
Hurry back Jules!

(Zone 7a)

Thanks, Weegy! I was wondering.

Gilroy (Sunset Z14), CA(Zone 9a)

Thanks for forwarding the message, weegy----I always miss Jules when she's gone for more than a day!

No. San Diego Co., CA(Zone 10b)

I was beginning to wonder, too. Thanks, Weegy. And congratulations, btw! You'll have a bunch of grandkids in the not-too-distant future!

Tolleson, AZ(Zone 9a)

Thank Louise . I miss Jules posts too.

(Zone 7a)

Any idea when she might be back?

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Thanks Kathleen, we're off to a good start!

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Maybe a couple of days. I'll give her a call today.

(Zone 7a)

Okay, thanks.

Stanford, CA(Zone 9b)

I hope that she's on line soon. I miss her too. Glad that everything but the computer is OK.

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

I'm Back!
Sorry to worry you all. I had a bad couple of days, way too full of activity, and a couple of Dr. appts. Don't worry, I'm still too skinny, but too mean to die. LOL!
My real problem was that my computer needed to have some work done on it because it was moving so slow. Especially on my photo program. Takes it forever to delete photos.
Anyway, we got rid of cookies, and then we defragged the laptop. It took almost 3 days. I am still having problems with the photo program, but ES is going to work on it, as soon as I reassure my friends.
This was my favorite photo today. Blackbeard Jr. knows what to do with mulch! : - )
I'll try to share some more with you tomorrow.
Thanks Weegy for helping me out. (And not telling on my boo boo call). LOL!
WIB!

Welcome back, m'dear! That looks like one comfy kitty.....

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

He is. Here is another photo of him. He looks like a two headed cat because he is curled up with Sid Vicious. His tail is partly covering Sid. BB Jr. is the one who brings me gifts. Today it was a small sparrow. Not a hummer. I thanked him and requested mice or lizards in the future please.
He really is a nice guy, especially to the ferals, but also gets along with the inside cats when they are outside. He's one Cool Cat! LOL!

I have missedyou, my Friend.
Glad it was the computor not you.

Gilroy (Sunset Z14), CA(Zone 9a)

Wow, that's a great picture!!! The only time my cats get within 10 feet of each other is when the food bin is empty. Then they seem to understand the need to band together create an "unusual event" to get our attention. The unusual event is that they're not hissing and clawing at each other. It's been years since I've had any cats that were friends----and two of the current residents are even litter-mates! However, they were separated for 2 years, so I'm sure that impacted their relationship. The one that died last year (at 17+) preferred sleeping with the dog to having anything to do with the other cats.

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

Oh goody, I found you! I was going to track you down today! I missed you too, RRM! : - )
How is the weather out there? I heard you were getting some rain. Hope that it's not too much.
It's been cold for us, and it rained, Yippee! Still nice, especially today, it's a whole 77degrees here.
Took this photo yesterday. It shows our winter color. That building in the background is a very vandalized, but the original Bee Barn on the farm. I'd love to get the old equipment and make it a museum. Oh well, another project, I'll put off for now. LOL!

Oh, girl. that is a very pretty pic. We have been getting Rain and more Rain. We live on a hill so we are relatively safe.
Went on couple walks last week in woods but not this wenkend. Too Cold for me, I am a wimp!!!☺ Not cold as it could be it is 37 f. now. Still misting and very wet everywhere. How is the Tree farm doing?? Is it Christmasy enough to sell trees? Our Friends have a tree farm and they look like they are keepingbusy. Think it is the cold wet Weather.

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

ima,
you ought to know by now that I'm kinda strange with the critters. I insist that they get along. They don't always mind, but usually they are pretty nice to each other. The exception being that the cats really want to eat the parakeets. (My son's cat's. Mine ignore the 'keets).
The cats will learn, although it will take them time. Buddy Holly, has managed to upset my cats, so there is an armed truce in the house and BH isn't allowed in my room which is their undisputed territory. They crack me up.
The dogs love the cats, and Peanut often has one curled up with her. Spirit is trying to make friends but he keeps forgetting and scares them, but he is not chasing them now.
BB Jr. is just the Cool Cat. He does not like strange males in his territory and will drive them away. He is protecting his cat colony. He doesn't care if all the girls (and boys) have been spayed (or neutered). He wasn't neutered till he was King Cat for a couple of years and he hasn't forgotten it.
I suspect the two year separation had a lot to do with your two cats. They can be very jealous especially if they think some other cat has supplanted them.
I try really hard to give my girls equal time. I tell them they are beautiful, and they are happy. Peek-a-boo is not a "needy" cat, and only wants a thorough head scritching at night. The rest of the time you don't even know she is around.
My Grizelda, is old and she thinks she is needy. After we had her spayed, she mourned, she kidnapped my son's small stuffed turtle and drags it around the house crying piteously until I collect her and give her loves. She misses her kittens. She has Peek-a-boo, and doesn't want anyone else.
I'm trying to stay away from ES's cats. They need to bond with him. They are hard to resist though.
I don't have nothing to do with the two ferals that live here too. I am pretty sure that they share the kibble I put out for BB Jr., though. He doesn't mind sharing, and he does catch rodents, and I know the feral Mama taught her feral son to hunt. They eat them instead of gifting them to me, Thank Goodness!
You can't blame the wild ones for being themselves, but you can teach any pet to have good manners. Even the birds. : - )
One more cat photo of BB Jr. because it is so cool. Chuck from Perris (DG member) came by one day and gave me this plant. Being me I promptly forgot it's name. Both the dogs and the cats like to eat it, so it lives in the gh. where it is somewhat protected.
I caught BB Jr. in the act. Loved the photo.

It is o.k. Darlin' I'm just glad you are o.k. I have some pic I want to share with you of the Woods Walks. you will love the little stream.
If we d happen to get some snow I want to walk down there and get some pic.
I loved your cat pic. He is really intent on eating that grass.

Yeah he sure is. Looks kind of mean, although he's not.

Glad you are back Jules. That's quite a cat photo! I can see why that plant lives in the greenhouse now though. :-)

Freedom, CA(Zone 9b)

Glad you are okay SW!! Glad you got your computer fixed.
Been working like crazy to get Christmas presents done in time for Christmas.
My little 8 month old kitten "Marion" went missing Monday morning and I spent allot of time searching for her this week. Her brother "Gary" was beside himself with worry, as they had never been apart. Just after midnight this morning, I woke up to her yelling her head off as she came in the second story cat window!! Skinny and hungry and cold! But not a single wound! She must have been locked up somewhere, unable to get out to come home. At least she was not coyote or bobcat food as I had come to fear....
Now I cannot make a move without her being right next to me. It must have been terrifying for her!
Love the photos of your beautiful critters :-)
Here are Marion and Gary before the incident. I think even Seti was glad to see her back. Seti and BB could be twins.

What a beautiful furry love balls you got there.
So glad she found her way home.

Eugene, OR

Loving the pictures everyone. Especially BB eating that plant. My Gretchen likes to chew on my Orchids, we're still having words over that. LOL The two cuddly kittens are adorable!! So glad the little girl managed to get home. Mine aren't that friendly, Poo will clean Gretchen if she comes up and begs her to. It's so funny to watch. This is about as close as they get. Poo is the Siamese mix.

Awww...I've never seen them like that. They are so pretty, but my heart is with the feathers. ^_^
Julie was watching a video of a very talkative macaw at breakfast this morning. She climbed right off my lap onto the computer.

Cute!! Patches (mom's cat) was trying to find the bird in the TV yesterday, had mom and I cracking up.

Freedom, CA(Zone 9b)

In my dreams, I get to have an aviary again someday................ I really miss having birds. Julie looks very happy.

Eugene, OR

I have cats, but love birds also. The aviary at the zoo is my favorite exhibit. At home I have 5 feeders to attract different birds, loving the Chickadees right now. My outside cat is pretty good about leaving my birds alone actually, most of the "treasures" she brings me are mice or voles.

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

I loved all the critter photos.
Julie is gorgeous! I don't think that her plumage has ever looked better.
CatSmiling, that's a scary feeling. Cats do as they will. Hopefully, she has learned to come home at night! I am so glad she did. Cats do mourn. If they don't, I want someone to explain to me why Grizelda still cries and drags around small stuffed animals when Peek-a-boo has been gone too long.
She misses being a Mama Cat.
She is finally starting to get along with Buddy Holly who has no fear.
This is a photo of BH and his canine pal Lily. Right after I took this photo he challenged Lilly to a real dog fight, and started bouncing off the furniture. Lily, who bless her heart, was sweet and played nice. Of course it helped that BH had his claws sheathed when he bounced off LIly's behind and the middle of her back. Was hilarious to watch. Then they ran around the house together in perfect symmetry with Lily on the outside (larger silhuette) and BH on the inside. Too cute!
What a Blessing our four footed friends are!

Lucky and Radar like to run and play too.
Best thing to do is just stay out of the way when they do run.

Freedom, CA(Zone 9b)

Too bad we can't post video here, as live action shots of BH and Lily would be fun to watch. That ain't a complaint though :-)
Yes, Marion aka Adventure Girl isn't as interested in going beyond the boundaries I have so often warned her about, anymore. And yes SW, you are so right about animals mourning each other. My old cat Seti witnessed her sister being mauled by a bobcat twice. Om survived the first attack after major surgery, but not the second. For months afterwards, Seti would insist I let her search in every room, closet, and cupboard for her sister! And she would cry mournfully the entire time.....

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

My mule watched my old horse SAM pass away and buried. It was a very cold rainy day. I still miss My Sam.They watched as the young gentleman came in and buried him. It was a very sad day for all of us. It took them a while to know he was gone. Makes you feel like crying til you can't cry anymore to lose one of your dear beloved FurBabys.

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

rrm! Happy Christmas! I've missed seeing you around. But then again, 'tis the Season.
Animals love, they mourn. They don't feel pain the same way we do, but they do feel pain.
I saw the coolest act of kindness today. I wish I could have taken a photo, so my words will have to do.
While driving home from Wallyworld (need new specs), I saw two young ladies pull over their car and turn on their emergency lights. Both exited the car, and then I saw why. A fur baby, in this case one of those small toy size, cute hairy dogs, was running loose near the very busy road. I was able to see that the dog approached one of the girls and in the rear view mirror that he was safe in her arms.
You know it gives me hope about the goodness of heart in our young people, and people in general.
PC, I am just so happy your baby came home. Saddest sound I ever hear a cat make was when a strange tom got to her new born litter of kittens and he killed almost all of them. Her wail of grief at the sight was heart wrenching. She chased that tomcat down, beat him off and he never came back. It's good she's home.
I have to go track down my Peek-a-boo who is freaked out by all this holiday stuff, on top of which it's been raining since I let her out and she prolly is blaming me for it. I'll worry til she is home safe.
Video of all the action would be fun. I can just picture your mules kicking up their heels and out and out running just for the fun of it and playing tag. : - )
It's dark, the kids have quieted down, and it's time to try to convince Peek-a-boo that it is safe to come inside. It has to be her choice though. I never force her inside the house. It was hard enough to gain her trust. She only came to me 'cause she was hurt, and needed help. She was feral and is still skittish.

SW, my neighbor told me we had the same kind of rescue here a couple of weeks ago. One of our neighbors up the hill - the type that think animals are disposable items - had a beautiful dark dog with blue/gray eyes. He was allowed to run free and would come into our yard all the time. I don't make friends with these dogs because when they wander or run through, they scare our birds and I don't like to encourage them, then have to chase them off. Anyway, she heard a screech on the highway one day and saw him running there between cars. A lady pulled over, called to him, and he ran straight to her and into the car. Hard way to find a good home, but chances are she either found him a home or kept him. Chalk another one up for the good guys!

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

If they can't take care of them, they don't need them.
I hear my little rooster out on the porch crowing, he is a Sebright, only one left
of ^. He is tough. Guess hawks got his brothers, he stays in a Cedar tree.
I have other chickens but he is his own Chicken. Very pretty little fella.

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

rrm,
You and your chickens. It makes me laugh. Pretty little thing, hanging out on the porch, eh?
I'm trying to be nice today, so don't get me started on people who deliberately abandon animals. Let's give thanks instead for those who care enough to rescue them.
KC, no matter how much you like 'em you have to run them off. Or catch them and call animal control. I have done both. Yesterday, we ran off three of the neighbors dogs, and the day before Spirit went after the coyote. Wish I'd gotten a photo of that. Got a great photo (I think) of him today.
He is so good on our walks.
Happy New Year My Friends!

Spirit has a beautiful healthy pink tongue. He is pretty laying up there on the rocks.
I know, my poor old Sweetie passed away but I still have this lettle fella. Sweetie was just so huge, she got over on her back and couldn't get back up, the fella I got her from said that those particular chickens have "heart attacks" when they get get back on their feet. I buried her in an Armadillo hole. I sure am glad he dug that hole for me. Just had to enlarge it a little . Put a Flower cart over her so the dogs couldn't dig her up. She was such a good chicken. so Sweetie is in chicken heaven with all the little Sebrights.
You all have a Happy Heallthy New Year. I have truelly enjoyed chatting with you ALL. Love ya....
