Cottage Garden Seed Swap & Chat #45

Jackson, SC(Zone 8a)

i dont know how much i will be on this weekend. right now i am totally upset and crying and just dont know how to handle it all right now. so much for christmas for me and my 18 year old. hubby heads out this tuesday and will be gone for months. the money i put back for christmas has to go with him. i would gladly give it up for him to be here.

i just dont know how to handle him being gone for so long and so far away. at least when he went it was around the south area where i could go visit. this round i cant go visit at all as i cant fly and no way to drive there.

sorry just in bad mood

wish i got something in mail besides bills anybody want those?

Thanks for the ammonia recipe idea y'all! I've been trying to find the proper dilution ratio, only I didn't know it was good for killing slugs. I'd heard about using ammonia solution from a lady I used to garden for, who said her mother had used it, and had the most amazing houseplants. I did some reading and found out it can be used as nitrogen fertilizer, but not knowing how much to dilute it, I never tried. That's about as cheap as you can get for soluble nitrogen plant food. And now I'll know that I'm feeding my seedlings and killing lurking slugs- fantastic!

Ella thanks for letting me know my box arrived safely. The daffs were kept cool until I started packing then started sprouting on me cause DH keeps the house too warm. They sure are determined to grow is all I know. Did you like the bumpy thing in the evelope?

Merry Christmas everyone. I really enjoyed this and I'll do better next year now that I've seen how it works and will be more prepared and sure to have more interesting seeds to share.

Leesburg, FL(Zone 9b)

I"ll be starting a new thread so when Ella gets back, this one will still load for her...
gimme a min or two.
