Trying to keep this a Tiger-free zone. ^_^
So how far along with holiday preps is everyone? I'm done with shopping. Still have to wrap and finish decorating the tree.
Coffee Break #26 - Feeling like winter!
We're buying some wreaths today and will probably be putting up lights and stuff tonight and tomorrow. Got the X-mas cards yesterday and they'll be going out this week. Also going to get DW her gift this week. - Something modest & simple, (most probably practical & electronic). We have pretty much everything we want, (except an obscene load of money). So we're cool and content for now... ☺
Still wrapping for the mail. Jumper 2 reminds me that by visiting, we don't have to mail their gifts, right. Got my brother & DH's sister presents off this morning (CO & NM). TX, OR & eastern WA to go. Whew. A couple overseas cards to do as well as those in the US. Feeling my age.
picked up the tree today - tomorrow we (i) will decorate.
had funny incident this morning going to the dump - a steer was loose and walking down a main road - had a pretty good back-up, 7 cars in each direction, finally pepperell's finest arrived and the owner was found to bring the escapee home.
have not started wrapping yet - all shopping is done except a couple small stocking stuffers.
Hee hee. A 7-car backup. You're certainly not a city boy, Bill!
actually had two back-up's a lady got rear-ended going about 15 entering a rotary and decided to get out of her car and call the police and just stand there instead of pulling to the side of the road - unbelievable - i think i have seen her before at the grocery store leaving here cart in the ailse!!
Hee hee.
Funny Bill!!!!
Like every year, we're not having a tree and I'm not doing cards. I'm only giving very few gifts this year. All are handmade drawings, except the two 'tooth' teddy bears for my nieces. My son is getting the only purchased, not-handmade gift: an ipod touch. He's gonna be thrilled. Too bad he won't be able to play it until his grades come back up to a 'B'. I'm so MEAN!!!
Bill! You? Cracking funnies? It must be Christmas :-)
3-0 Army over Navy. Go Army!
So is the Army team only based at West Point, or is the Navy based there too? Fill me in here. I know nothing about this. Like, why are you rooting for the Army team?
Shopping done!! Still have lots of baking and wrapping to do, my favorite part.
Tree is decorated except for the tinsel and candy canes...who puts tinsel on their tree?
Army is West Point. They're local to me.
Boooo Army!
I sent out my cards yesterday, I'm only sending to those that I don't keep in touch with on Facebook, then I'll send the ones on Facebook an e-card
Hubby has a cold so once again didn't go out to get our tree. A couple of my high school friends were getting together for lunch and I couldn't go to that either...forget about leaving the kids home if hubby is sick. Oh well.
Was getting some old baby clothes and toys out of the attic to give to a lady in church who will be going on a missions trip to Nicaragua for Christmas.
Here's a neat way to give this season

I don't think we've ever done tinsel even when I was a kid.
Why are you booing Army, Jen??
I still have to send out my ecards.
Update on my DNA project. Somehow, they could not get good results from two separate draws from the first vial (my initial reaction was - I have no DNA!!) Now they are using the second vial.
Navy family here, always root for Navy.
We always did tinsel. The funnest part was putting the end on your tongue and blowing it.
That explains it Victor. Where is the Navy team based?
No DNA?! Does that mean your're A.I.?
Navy is in Annapolis, MD.
I haven't sent in my DNA yet. Go NAVY!!
When you send yours in, put my name on it! That would be fun.
Oh, okay. Are there AirForce, Coast Guard and Marine teams too?
Air Force (CO). Marines are part of the navy. CG has an academy but no team - I think.
Oh. Okay.
No Victor. It might screw up the experiment if it comes back that you are part Tiger.
Oops. That's so last thread...
couldnt help it.
^_^
Ugh - TD, Navy.
navy is gonna win. not even gonna watch it. postman just brought me my netflix goodies. Off to watch 'Up".
Great movie!
I'm not rooting for Army or Navy, so there you have it.
harper you are not a meanie - he will be glad he was held to some standards when he is around 30
Shopping is done, tree is up & decorated, cards will be done tomorrow- have a church luncheon to attend tomorrow---hope the weather cooperates. Navy won---my DH is happy.
Yeay Navy!!!
Thanks for the encouragement Bill! He responds well to a stricter discipline than not. I like that about him. He actually expresses appreciation too!
Main tree is up and decorated along with 5 small artificial ones. Baked about 10 different cookies so far, still have shopping to do but not much.
Oh.... cookies! Just realized how hungry I am. DH is making dinner tonight. We've nicknamed him "The Slow Chef". That's what his TV show will be named.
Wow , these are some intense lights...

Just back from a fantastic Christmas concert at the church. They even covered the Trans-Siberian Orchestra's Christmas in Sarajevo, with a kid playing electric guitar.
Victor I did TSO Christmas in Sarajevo for our light show
