I wore jeans---sometimes ripped, sometimes with cryptic messages----I was in college in the 60's---we were the innovators!

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Looks like if we're feeling like sharing the fun, now we can give our paperwhites a drink from the bar!

Luving the window shelving! Thanks for the howto wintergarden. I want to do that to the kitchen window when it's replaced as it is the only window that gets sun.

Valatie, NY(Zone 5a)

Glad you like the window garden, dahlianut!

Now, here is a plant that helps me get through the winter: Thunbergia Grandiflora. It started blooming yesterday, as snow swirled outside, and temps dipped into the 20s. It is today's featured plant at www.agardenforthehouse.com.

Are these them? I took this pic at Logee's--yours are gorgeous!

Valatie, NY(Zone 5a)

Yes! And although I've had my plant for four years, I keep it "house-size" by cutting it way back in early summer. This will I can enjoy its beautiful blooms all winter, on a glass shelf in the window garden!

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

How much light do you give it? I've always loved this plant, just assumed I could not meet it's culture needs.

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

PG--what is first belle? Hard to tell from the pic.

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

Oops! Kevin...bet you posted that info on yer website! LOL! :-P

Pensacola, FL(Zone 8b)

It is a brugmansia or an angel trumpet.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hee hee. As a short guy, I agree with that! Here's another shot from the intro's.

Ha! I can do a butt bump too! (of course, I would be making contact with their knees!) LOL! Those are good pics--new camera trook them?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks - yes the D300S.

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

Cool! How did you like using it at the game? Did you need a lot of practice to learn how to get good pics w/it?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Very nice. It's fine when you have the right lens. Had my fast lens - the 105mm, f2.8, so I could easily freeze the action and get sharp shots.

Last one - asst. coach during pre-game drills. I noticed that the reflected light on his head matched his shirt!

Wish I had these lenses!!!

That's what happens when you polish your head! LOL!
Wow!--I did not even know they made lenses like that! I think he must work out to be able to cart those around.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Looks like about $7 grand Victor, a guy in the bird forum recently got a canon 600mm IS, ($10,000!)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yeah - I guessed between 5 and 10K. Wow, who linthicum?

Shelburne Falls, MA(Zone 5a)

Great shots Victor! What settings do you use? What is the percentage you keep? (I'm still struggling with my new camera.)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks, Kathy. I shoot sports on shutter priority and set the shutter speed at the slowest setting that will freeze the action. The percentage kept varies - but at least half. Some shots are fine, but just duplicate another so I might chuck it.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

No, it was 2dCousinDave!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks, WC. Don't know him. Maybe I should get to and see if I can get his 'old' lens!

Kathy - forgot to say that for these, the speed was 1/400 sec. I also keep it on continuous (low) in case I want to shoot a continuous series.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Nice shots Victor.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Tanks.
