I would like to know if anyone could tell me how much they charge to trim 39 evergreen bushes 5 foot 8 inches tall and clean two flower beds that are 80 feet long each from all weeds and cut back all flowers and plants to ground these have not been done for over 3 years the bushes or the to flower beds?

Some charge per hour, some charge for a day's work no matter what the work. If you use a professional nursery/landscaper sort of business, chances are it will be more expensive than a handyman type situation. We have a fellow here that charges $250/day. I've not met him but a buddy was telling me last week. She hires him once/year. It doesn't matter if shoveling, wallpapering, replacing rotted lumber, replacing sink parts, painting, installing carpet --whatever. 20 or 200 or just 1 task. He works from about 8 am -dark (~ six pm or so) and doesn't take a break. She told me that he was steady, works quickly and does a good job. So she saves up a list of things and hires him for the day. I've had landscaper services (about 3 men on site with their own equip) that did much like you have asked --- including supplying and delivering truckload of mulch and I believe it cost $650 or $750. Clean beds, trim, weed, fertilize, mulch, haul. I think that was really expensive --- maybe not-- but I think it was.

You could call around and get estimates.

Also before you have them cut everything in the flower bed to the ground, it might help to figure out what some of the things are. Some things will do fine being cut to the ground but others won't come back from that treatment. Or if your goal is to get rid of everything and start from scratch with new plants, you ought to have the things in the bed dug up vs just being cut to the ground. Otherwise some things will come back, and the ones that don't will still leave a bunch of roots behind that'll make it harder to dig holes for whatever you're going to put in there as a replacement.

You may even want to cosider placing an ad in your local paper offering to pay say 10 to 12 dollars an hour for handy man yard services. Just be sure you know what you want done before he arrives.Lots of young people are out of work but capable of doing this type of work with owner instructions.
