Hi,
I live in a town called GOOMERI, QLD. AUSTRAIA.
I believe it is Zone B, maybe a little hotter because of no shade?
It is a very hot burning sun and I do not have much, if any, shade in my yard.
I want to plant with some colour but they have to be sun hardy.
Inside temp is around the 35C and out side it can be up to 45C in direct sun.
I know its going to be hard finding plants that will live but you guys might have experienced some of the mistakes which mean i dont need to make your mistake.
Thanks for any help, my friend,
Debi from AUSTRALIA
Pic of Back Yard - you can imagine the front and it gets the hot afternoon.
This is taken from back fence, as you can see no shade. Is there a strong quick growning shade tree that I could plant there to creat shade?
Hi Guys, you expert help needed.
Degerotty, For shade and a fast growing tree is a Paulownia and will grow nicely in your region. Here is a link to see picture of it. http://www.fast-growing-trees.com/Paulownia.htm I personally think they are beautiful.
Hey Deb, Flowers is absolutely right. Here is a link to an Australian site
http://www.paulownia.org/directory.html
also some plants that tollerate sun well and seem to be universal is annual merigolds, begonias and pre-annuals are daylillys. Sure others will have more suggestions. Good Luck!
