An adult sitting high up in a tree ........
Bald Eagle - Our National Symbol - Vol. #5
linthicum - I tell you the truth, this thread is amazing, esp. the two eagles in conflict over a fish.
WOW!

More wows from me Linth. That close-up in the tree is just incredible! Well, so are all the others too!! So clear that that adult in flight looks like a doll to me. That one just getting ready to pick up the fish is spectacular!
Excellent shots Linth!
Moving on over to a new thread - Vol. #6 .........

When I saw this photo http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/p.php?pid=7336789 (posted above), I kept thinking what an awesome painting this would be. Not being a painter myself, but seeing in another thread where someone had taken a photo and painted it, I directed Scardiecat to the photo. She's captured it beautifully. http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=7496483
Just thought I'd share this with you eagle fans.

Lack of human handouts don't keep birds from bay After Homer's beloved Eagle Lady, Jean Keene, died Jan. 13, 2009, bald eagle lovers worldwide wondered what would happen after Keene quit feeding. Under a Homer ordinance, Keene was the only person legally allowed to feed eagles within city limits. After her death, the Homer City Council allowed friends of Keene to feed until March 27, 2009.
Gary, thanks for the update article on the Homer, AK Bald Eagles. I have also passed it along to a local gentleman that has visited Homer on several occasions. I would assume that the local economy is glad to see that they are still around in strong numbers. I haven't been back to Conowingo Dam, here in Maryland, since two weeks before Christmas. I made about 11 trips between October and December and was sort of losing a little enthusiasm. My last trip I took about 1,200 photos. But, I'll be back there in the Fall.
As you can see in this image, some of our local eagles are sitting on eggs, already. Watching it snow outside with low temperature in the teens, I could only admire their perseverance and paternalistic instincts during these tough hours. I watched and wondered as they sat next to each other for nearly an hour. This picture from the Blackwater webcam truly speaks volumes.
Stay warm .......
Wonderful Photos. I have been watching Hancock Wildlife site for about 1 year and watched chicks through to fledging last year and it was so wonderful. I really got hooked and am waiting for a cple pairs to lay eggs soon. I will have to watch this too. Thanks.
