WOW!!! 262 volumes of daily pics.....we must really love our feathered friends!
Usually when I am asked to start the next thread I always manage to get a new photo that is not to bad. But this time I came up a blank. So I went back thru my files and found this photo of a Northern Flicker taken on November 29, 2007.
I had no idea what this bird was at the time. I had to search to ID it. I just knew that it was beautiful. And luckily I had just gotten this digital camera a few of days prior so I was able to photograph it.
Just in case you want to go back, we came from here http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1058205/

DAILY PICS VOL. 262
Great start nanny! Love your photos!
Nice one of the Red-headed Woodpecker Jen!
Nice shot of the Northern Flicker Nanny. He looks really big on the feeder.
I so envy those of you with the nuthatches. I've yet to see one this season, and I miss them!
I am seeing turkeys nearly every day, I've had several waves of Golden-crowned Kinglet and Bushtit go through over the last couple weeks, and I'm seeing the Downy nearly daily. The little male allowed me a nice photo session yesterday.
Great shots guys!
Tiger, I love your little male Downy!
Tiger, at least you've seen one Nuthatch. Mine haven't been here since the early summer and I'm still waiting!
Great photos of the Downy. Think my favorites were the 4th and 5th. Sure was nice of him to allow you all these pretty pictures.
Water, your little hawk is adorable!
duc, I haven't seen any nuthatches this season. I said I've yet to see one. Last year at this time the White-breasted were on my cedars every morning, and the Red-breasted was at the suet and BOSS all day. Also I have just a few Juncos and Gold-crowned Sparrows, while I should be seeing huge numbers. No American Goldfinches now, either, but I did have one still very bright male Lesser yesterday. Compared to the last several, it's been a dud year for my songbirds. ;-(
Nice pictures of hawks.
Tiger, that Downy did a great posing session for you. He's lovely.
Wonderful birds Duc, are these by the sea or a lake?
Nanny, thanks for the new thread, that flicker shot is really nice. I keep looking for the little brown creeper, and nothing yet. From the looks of it, they seem to hang around trees, with rough bark. If that's the case, I might not have much opportunities to see it. I only have my crabapple that would fit the criteria. ;(
My contribution today a Goldfinch.
Watercan, hreat shot of your hawk there!!
The downy is a so cute tigerlily. We aren't even seeing a lot of those right now. The temperatures are due to really drop this week, so maybe they will start coming.
Duc, love your eagles!
Beautiful wren Met.
Oh those Willie Wagtails! LOL
Very nice shots Burn and Met!
Margaret, It looks like the Kooky is smiling in the second shot.
- Thanks Nanny & everyone, glad 'ya enjoyed it! I was thinking I had to get a good shot of it when I saw it, always great pics here! ☺
Very nice photo's everyone! Thanks for the new thread Nanny, I know what you mean about overcast, I think we only really had one day of sunshine in the last 2 weeks. I think when the snow comes it'll make for better shots I hope :|, I cant get good shots of the Brown Creeper either they blend with the tree bark to well. lol
Jec6, nice capture of the leucistic Red-tailed Hawk, first time to see one, so I looked it up and found a few other shots, also called the Ghost Bird (fitting for Gettysburg) lol. Here's a link http://www.pbase.com/rcm1840/leucistic_red_tailed_hawk
Duc, your TV's always look great, look's like he's saying (okay did ya get that one? hows this one? and this one...) lol
Nice Downy set Tiger! Watercan, nice shot of the Sharp-shinned!
Burn, nice shots! Ive had crows waking me up the last couple days, their raiding the suet feed.
Met Awesome shots! Margaret that Kookaburra looks like it could swallow the W-W. Brave little birds.
Reddirt, nice shot of the Cormorants! More than likely D-c Cormorants.
Havent seen the Red-breasted Nuthatches since last week, but seen W-b Nuthatches Saturday, right now Downy's, one Red-bellied WP, House Finch's and Junco's are the main daily visitors. Missing my Black-caps also, been 2 week's.
Do Brown Creeper's take to feeder's at all?
Couple shots from this morning, cloudy plus shooting pics threw windows. Male Downy
Nice shots everyone...thanks for the new thread Nanny! I haven't gotten any shots of the Flickers this year either, although they seem to be everywhere.
Here is a Harris' Sparrow from the brush pile yesterday...there were two of them. I hope they spend the winter like they did last year. They aren't as shy as last year and I was able to take lots of shots of them.
Rose, what a beautiful little bird.
Rose, Nice shot! I think the Harris is such a handsome sparrow!
Love your Downy Burd!
