My Thanksgiving cactus is still blooming, this was taken yesterday.

The large amaryllis 'Siren' is now winding down some. It still has 2 large flowers open on it and they are facing in opposite directions.

This is a straight on picture of the one that is back-to in the photo above. It's fairly large for one of the last flowers to open.

"Firecracker' has another shoot up and about to pop.

A almost frozen Heuchera 'Miracle'', hard to believe this was covered by snow on Nov. 6. Now it's Dec, 3rd when this picture was taken and it hit 60. How's that for wierd.

Edited because I had this Heuchera's name wrong!

Lovely wierd Heuchera! How many amaryllis do you have? I have one baby papillio that I got in a trade, and I used to have quite a few and would try to stagger their blooming periods, but often, they had a mind of their own. lol

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

have already started flipping corners of pages in one catalog.

South Hamilton, MA

Glad that our catalogs seem slow. The only one so far for next spring is David Austen Roses. I have to find a spot for 'Wife of Bath' the first one I ever saw. Iris seed are safely in their flats & pots, the latter used when less than 10 seed per cross.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

LOL Me too Bill.
I'm not sure how many I have phoebe, off the top of my head ......

Santo's
Siren
Apple Blossom
Minerva
Red Lion
Charisma
Nymph
Pink Diamond
Gran Cru
Rembrandt Van Rijn
Firecracker
Trentino
Snowdrift
Bogata
Red Peacock
Dancing Queen
Orange Sovereign
I guess between 17-20 different ones. There are still one or two I really want. "Sydney" is one of them, thats my great niece's name.

Really pretty pixie. Your home must be gorgeous with all those blooming.
The catalogs should start drifting in, in a week or two I think. Already have the DA roses and a few seed catalogs. Mostly still getting those garden gift ones now. Have a long list of wishes already without all those pretty tempting pics in the catalogs that will have to be edited and the saved order at Bluestone that will get tweaked too. If the snow, cold temps and catalogs all arrive at the same time it could be dangerous! But a lot of fun. :)

Oh good--more pics to come! I had some of the same one's back when--A lot of those are new to me--I've fallen off most of the gardening catalog lists, but I still get the John Sheepers, and I forget the name of their sister catalog--and a couple other odd ones

Thomaston, CT

Engleman's? They are right up the road from me, in Bantam. Loved all the amaryllis, & ROS---didn't realize there were that many varieties of ROS.

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

Yes, I believe so--I know they are in CT. Have you ever been there Robin?

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

Beatles on CPTV--public television...oops--now it's the Beach Boys! LOL

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

Mama's and Papa's now--we must be in the 60's with this program--And I'm remembering every word of every song! :-O
Frankie Valley...Big Girls Don't Cry...

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Love that stuff....going to go find it!

Thomaston, CT

I've been by the bulb place, Phoebe, but you can't go in---it's just a warehouse, they only sell through the catalogs. The place is just gorgeous when the tulips are blooming---I guess they have some planted of all the varieties they sell----alliums, too. There's a local farm, Arethusa, that has begun selling milk in the stores, & now they want to buy an old firehouse just down the road from Scheepers, & sell their own milk, yogurt, cheese, & ice cream, so I'll be going by frequently!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Must be pledge time.

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

Yup--pledge time--they are asking $150 for 4 DVD's or 6 CD's
Robin--I heard about that creamery--there was a photo in the local paper--the JI--wish I lived closer!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

You can probably have the groups come to your house for less!

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

Mic is on--he'll come to my house? heh-heh....Oh Boy!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Kathy and Celeste....what pretty blooms!! My amaryllis that I dug up and replanted in pots are showing some signs of life. This pot has Apple Blossom in the center and I planted radishes around the outside edge.

I'm about to enter my Heuchera Period of life. I have none and I think that's a crime! Anyone who loves coleus MUST have a Heuchera Period, doncha think?

Victor - I watched that Ed Sullivan retrospective with the Beatles, etc. I thought it was really good, and then the football game came on and that was that! LOL Yeah, pledge time is right! I've stopped answering the phone with all the fundraisers. I love caller ID!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

oops....forgot to attach the shot of my amaryllis/radish creation

Interesting combo Louise. I fogot--do radishes flower? I remember the leaves, but can't picture a flower.

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

Watched the last episode of Monk--sniff-sniff :-(
Now it's back to CPTV--A new group called Straight--No Chaser. About 10 very handsome men in business suits singing acapella--mostly oldies--they are amazing! Says they were a you tube discovery about a year ago. Did I mention how cute they are? LOL!

Trenton, MI(Zone 5b)

I had a Double Rose of Sharon for about 15 years, then within 2 years it died. Never could see or find a reason why. We now have Burning Bushes in the area where the ROS was, but boy do I miss that tall beautiful bush. We had it planted right in back of our Japanese Maple. So Boojum, do you think it looks like an 'Arden'? I picked it up very cheap at a box store and it didn't have a name.

I went through an Amaryllis phase for several years, had about 7 types. At first blooming in the house, then I got a little lazier and let them bloom outside in the spring/summer in pots, then finally gave away most of them. I still have Apple Blossom and Papilio butterfly. I also have 2 that I started from seed, but they haven't bloomed yet ... have to keep them till they bloom. lol

Can you believe I'm not a Beatles fan ... shocking, I know.

If the pic is over exposed, it's prolly Ardens. It took me a long time to like the Beatles. I was a jazz teen at the time and I thought "I want to hold your hand" was insipid. Later I loved their music and now I'm not such a snob. I like a lot of music although jazz is still my fav.

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

Not a Beatles fan?!!!! :-O Blasphemy!!!! LOL!

I'm a big music fan and love most types, though rap, opera sometimes annoy me. But the Beatles have my heart--they were my first crush.

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

Woo-hoo!!! Just discovered a new batch of baby fish in my tank! They are about the size of this--> ' -->and the last batch of babies seem to be assisting in their care. The last batch are only 1/2--3/4 of an inch themselves. So cute!

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

phoebesviolets, I miss having a fish tank. Lucky you.

I worked in the greenhouse this afternoon and after I watered everyone, I came in and saw this scene from the dining room window looking into the greenhouse of that lovely pink hibiscus tree that was recently given to us. I loved the water on the window and plant. Patti

I have a new hippeastrum in bloom from eflowergarden's coop (Bleek). It is called Neon Rose, yummy hot pink, which is not my color in general, but it is luscious, so I am pleased to have it. It has two very different looks depending on the light. Here is the Neon one with the light coming through it. Patti

Ooooh, I am drooling over it! The hibiscus photo should be in the calendar!

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Thanks Robindog, I wish I knew how to shoot it better as it was a stunning sight through the water on the windows and bloom.

Here is Neon Rose is without the light behind it. Pretty thing and very tall first spike. Patti

Patti, I've never seen a pink one before! Neon Rose is stunning!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Love that amaryllis Patti and the Hibiscus is stunning!!

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

How pretty! You're definitely in the pink there, Patti.

Shelburne Falls, MA(Zone 5a)

I think I need a Neon Rose! Here's a NOID I bought at HD this week for $8 that didn't match it's label.

Patti--I always wanted a greenhouse!! Trade ya for the fish tank ^_^ LOL
First time I've seen Neon Rose, that and the hibiscus are beautiful! Wonder what that noid is gonna be when it grows up? Hope you are gonna post another pic when it's open, Boo!

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

So if my amaryllis decides it wants to bloom in the summer, but I want it to bloom in the winter, is there something I should do about it? Cut off the bud?
