There were ROS in the yard when I moved here. I have moved them and started new ones. They seem to grow wild here. I dont know what kind they are, but I harvest the seed every year.
Indoor Blooms & things that get you through the winter.
Some re-seed way too much!
I do not have that problem here, wish I did. Very pretty Jada reminds me of this one that I was looking at yesterday.....

Wow! Thanks. It does look the same. Thats what I'll call it..Lucy!
Let me know if anyone wants seeds. I have plenty.
Just call it 'Sharon' - can't go wrong!
Yes Please!!
Remind me to dig up some seedlings for you, Celeste. Some are pretty big.
Boojum, Great shot, nice memory of summer gone by. Almost summer temps today. Patti
Very inviting area Boo. What does Ardens look like?
have no idea - plant it in a protected area in the pot and move it to where you want in the spring - have a bunch planted that way.
Hee hee! If this weather continues, yes.
I did not realize that I could grow that tall. The problem with plants in the sun is that we stick irises in sunny spots. One of our hostas might be catching more sun, as a top blew off a birch tree today so DH cut the rest of it back. Birches are not long lived trees ans we have been here 30 yrs & cut a driveway next to it.
Pixie, If you remember me to in the spring, I can send you some shoots of one of the chiffons. I'm not sure which it is, but I know they are shoots, not seedlings.
You're going to be rose of sharoned up.
Like I told Jada, I have 18 acres to fill up....it'll be pretty!!
I love the chiffons. That's a beauty Boojum. Ardens is pretty also. I've never seen that one before.
Absolutely gorgeous!
Wow, Celeste! That's some bill! It is clear that our health care is broken, huh?
Patti - I'm so sorry to hear that you've had so much stress! Good for you for just hanging in there and getting back out in the garden. I'll be keeping you and your health in my prayers, along with many others from our DG family. What would we all do without the caring that goes around here? I've received so much from so many and it means so much!
Love the Rose of Sharons!! When we get back to NH, we're going to move ours into a sunnier area. It is in the shade, but still blooms. It just looks a bit scrawny where it is.
Signing off now to watch clips of the old Ed Sullivan Show with all the British groups in the 60s.... love 'em!
Bluebird is striking, but I'm gonna have to find a vendor for that White Chiffon.
Ok, im back with a bib on Boojum, post away. Beautiful!!
LOL!
Love Bluebird!
Actually - with the device itself costing 30K, 39 is not that bad.
With my usual disorganized malfeasance I once swiped a handfull of Bluebird seeds from a university arboretum-----and then forgot to plant them. I think they are still in the crisper drawer in the frig along with ten years of daylily seeds from all sorts of chance and odd matings, early species with lates, species with cultivars, ratty seedlings with seedlings and so on-I may just try to get them out in the garden before it snows as stratifying may help them germinate--both the daylilies and the Rose of Sharon that is. I also forgot to bring in the amaryllis so they are probably sunk. Maybe I will buy some new ones, maybe Apple Blossom? My wife's pits (avocado that is) came in, all seven of them one of which is over six feet tall. I am almost afraid to buy one for a salad as she gets them before the garbage and into water they go. We have a small grove in front of a small window. My son said we need a myna bird in them. Periodically she goes on a repotting spree and now it's difficult to maneuver them in the back door from the back step. The geranium her mother grew thirty some years ago continues to bloom at least it's cutting offspring and we just started a couple more pots of cuttings from it. Sadly, I think it may finally snow this week and then I'll have to start fantasizing with the seed catalogs--------------------------------------------Weedy
Thats what I was thinking, also was thinking that my son has an implant in his chest worth more than my car! LOL
Hi weedy..been browsing seed magazines already. ^_^
Pretty! How tall is it?
Oh, weedy! You just reminded me I gotta get those dahlias in. I think this weekend is my only chance.
The name is 'Trentino' and it's 14" tall on the tallest stem but the others are only 10" and maybe 8". Each stem has opened into 6 blooms! I looked at the picture in the magazine and hoped it was a sad mis-representation of the real flower as most pictures are.......and I was right as you can tell from my picture above VS this........

I'm now eyeing another one for next year again hoping the picture is a bad one. ^_^
