Hi y'all I am catching up again

pollyk there is a filter that will help with the blues and purples just can not remember what it is called
My Canon rebel takes good blue pictures

A rear end blow to a car will not cause the air bags to come out-how I know I get rear ended, no air bags.

It is cooler down here and we are getting ready for a bad rain storm.

Waving to everyone.

Beautiful Sandy!

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

Canon Rebel is one camera that has been recommended to me. If you do remember the filter that will help, I would appreciate it. Thank you. .

Yes, nice pictures and picture color. It is irises I need to photograph properly.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Thank you

You can also try to under or over expose your pictures also. I will try to find out the filter.

Thanks Sandy, I'll spend some time looking that over.

Nice Pixie. That certainly is a true blue.

Let me see if I can find an example of a picture I had trouble with. Most I have already photoshopped, but I would rather get a true color to begin with.

Thanks for the help.

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

It's the purples that are tricky--I have to find just the right light, or they come out as blue as Pixie's blue flower pics. The deep, rich shades are the most difficult.

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

Ok, here's a Japanese iris that should show no purple. But it does.

But this has always been the hardest color to catch for me....not anymore. ^_^

Which Nikon do you have Pix?

Here's an iris that no one can seem to get right. Pleasant Starburst.

Form Aitkens:

From the hybridizer:

And mine.
None of them are true to what the iris really looks like. It's a much darker purple, with no blues.

edited to write Nikon instead of Nixon. I was watching the Presidential address. OMG.

the problem is that the blue is not the color of the flower but the reflection of the light that makes it look blue to us. The camera sees the true color not what our eyes see. So a flower that looks blue to us may really be purple. Any way that is how it was explained to me. newer cameras are "adjusted" I think to see the colors as we see them.

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

Sigh...pretty flowers! And yep---that's the problem! The other day, I took a purple AV, took a pic on each setting in my camera--all came out various shades of blues. Finally I took it over to the sink--finally got it on the setting I usually use for AV's.

night!

How much control do you have over the white balance, Polly? That's what does it.

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

Not enough, obviously. It's an old camera, and I will be getting a new one in spring. I've been getting input, and reading up on cameras, and I'm not knowledgeable about cameras, so it's taken some time. When you don't know much about cameras it can really be confusing.

I've had recommendtions for Canon Digital Rebel XTi, and T1i,

I would be greatful for any recommendations.

Should I be looking at one with automatic white balance or no?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

They all have auto WB. You want one with manually adjustable, WB - not just presets like Sun, Clouds, Fluorescent, etc. That way, you can tailor it.

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

See, I told you I didn't understand, so please have patience. Mine does not have hardly any presets even. So when the Canon Rebel says White balance
• Auto
• Daylight
• Shade
• Cloudy
• Tungsten
• Fluorescent
• Flash
• Custom

Is the custom what I'm looking for?

Thank you Victor.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes - custom means you can tweak it.

Tiger's tale gets worse by the hour. I heard a voicemail from the second woman linked to him. He asks her to remove her name from her phone because his wife went through his phone and saw her name. He's cooked.

Great video for breast cancer awareness.

Newport News, VA(Zone 11)

Last night I watched the Victoria Secret special and there were lots of celebrities in the audience without their wives. tsk tsk.

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

Victor--I posted that link a week ago, Got it from one of my AV forums--- and it is a great video! Worth watching twice--every click counts!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Yes, thats the one you posted phoebe and I sent it to all my email contacts. It was a great video.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

polly if you are going to invest in a dslr i would choose one of the better cannon or nikon models as the rebel is a "beginners" dslr. i prefer canon myself although that is strickly a personnel preference based on information i received for camera programming engineers i used to work with. We use to make/sell low end cmos cameras and these guys knew there stuff.
