My neighbor gave me a bunch of daffodils - I have put them under trees, around poles... Now what do you suggest? I probably have 75 or so.
I also have a bunch of naked ladies and no idea where to put them either.
Where to plant lots of daffodil bulbs?
Tuck your daffodils in among other perennials. That way when they are through blooming, you still have things growing. The Naked ladies, Lycoris, put their bloom spikes up before the foliage in late September early October and then the foliage grows out. they remain during the winter, and the foliage dies back in the spring, just about the time other plants are starting to leaf out.

I was thinking about putting some in with the roses but when it is time to divide them, I don't want to disturb the rose roots. Do you think it would be a problem? Same with the naked ladies, I thought about sticking some in with my daylilies and irises.
I am just out of creative ideas and even thought about digging an area in the middle of my yard for just the daffodils. I am just trying to do this so I don't make more problems for myself later.
Not with the roses for the reason you stated, but in with the daylilies and irises for sure...if you put the daffs in the yard, remember you have to be careful not to mow them down...grin You could plant them across the front edge of a bed, then they wouldn't interfere with other plants.
The perennial border is an excellent place to put your bulbs. I put daff bulbs that my son surprised me with into my perennial border for lack of any other place to put them. I have found that it starts my perennial bed early and as my border grows in, it hides the foliage as it dies back from the bulbs.
Another thing you could do is to tuck your daff bulbs in with daylilies. As the foliage on the daylilies grow, it hides the spent foliage from the daffodils.
You want to make sure you do not cut back the foliage on your daffs when they finish flowering, as this feeds the bulb for the following year. A trick that I have found works well, is when the daffs are finished, split the foliage into 2 halves while it is still attached to the ground, then loosely 'tie' the foliage to the ground. This will help to hide and tidy up as the foliage dies back and it continues to nourish your bulbs.
One other thing, when you are planting your bulbs, be sure to use bone meal and mix it in well with the soil when you are planting. This will help with root development on your bulbs....
Thanks for the tips Carolyn. I do have daylilies planted so guess I will pop some daffodils in with those. I put bonemeal in with the irises, I didn't think to do that with the daffodils. Can I top dress with bonemeal or should I leave well enough alone?
Off to search for sedum for another bed.
Hope your Thanksgiving was filled with love and laughter.
You can send your naked ladies to me and save yourself a lot of trouble digging! LOL I have hostas in various places, and have planted daffodils among them so that when the hostas leaf out, they hide the dying daffodil foliage.
I also have some in a container with a camellia sinensis. They are lovely there.
I neglect my daffs, dont divide, mow over after foliage dies back, use them in clumps, my bulbs, chuckle, are about as big as a LARGE lemon. N I love seeing them twice each yr.
Re daffodils and perennial beds:
King Alfred daffodils at least are very vigorous.
Over time, you end up with dense patches.
I suspect they can out-compete most/all? perennials.
