I'll jump up, on top of the carts, for a better view.

Our sanitary crew works hard, collecting all edable trash, while tiding up this Wal-Mart parking lot.

Maybe there is something under the cars I couldn't see from above.

During the winter large numbers of Ravens move into the city scavenging for anything edible.

they look huge!

Yes, Ravens are very large birds, about 22 to 27 inches long.

And a very handsome bird too! Very nice pics Gary! Thanks for starting the new thread!

Duc, If you would like to repost some of your pics at the end of the last thread in this one, please do so.

Linthicum Heights, MD(Zone 7a)

Nice photos of the Raven, Gary.

If only our photos lived as long as those poetic words authored by Edgar Allan Poe who happens to be buried just a few miles from my residence.

Columbus, GA(Zone 8a)

That's it flowerjen - Guinea hens. I think that's what your pic was of.

Grasmussen - that last picture looks "bad", what a look!

Nice Shots Everyone! flowerjen your first picture is normally called a Peafoul, the pheasant is called a Reeve's Pheasant.

Hack, like what you did with your shots! ? Nice Egret Shot also! When the snow keep's me in-doors I will definitely be playing around with photoshop more often.

Duc, nice shot's of your Eagle and Waxwing's!

Nice shot's of the Raven's Grasmussen and nice start to the new thread. Ive seen some video of them, they are so clever, more than some people actually. lol

Well I,m officially marking Red-breasted Nuthatch on my list, a little better photo today but not great, will get more time this weekend and hopefully some sun.

Grasmussen-Love the close up of the Raven, I have never seen one.
Burd-Nuthatches are so entertaining, great shot of the Red-breasted. I get a White-breasted that does a fly by a couple times a year.

Clinton, MD(Zone 7a)

Have the rules changed? I noticed the last two threads have stopped far short of 130 posts.

Al

Northumberland, United Kingdom(Zone 9a)

Don't think so, it's just the threads move so fast, if someone knows they'll be away at work for a bit or something, there's a risk it'll have shot up to 150 posts before they get back, so starting the new one slightly early makes sense then.

Gras, your Ravens are beautiful. We have a few around us, but our smaller Crows drive them off.
Burd, we can tell that little Nuthatch was on the move. Congrats on the addition to your list.
Met, your photos are just breathtakingly clear and so precise. Beautiful job!
Mrs. Ed, great shots too!

This little Oak Titmouse was waiting in line for the peanuts.

Especially enjoyed the Ferruginous Hawk.

A back-yard Bluebird. They only use the sheperd's hook for perching. No interest in the feeders hanging on it. I have 3 regulars now. I believe some or all are roosting in my nest box.

Wow clarity is right nice shots Met! Duc, that's a lot of Waxwings, you got such a large variety of birds.

Mrs_Ed, while I was getting a couple of shots of the R-b Nuthatch, I was saying to myself (cmon stay there, stay there) lol. Those Nuthatches definitely are grab and go birds. Luckily the suet is sticky and it takes a second for them to gather enough before they fly off.

Marlton, NJ

Beautiful shot of the Ferruginous Hawk Met!

Love those Nuthatch Marna!

Beautiful Waxwings and adorable Titmouse duc!

Lovely Bluebird Red!

A Goldfinch on a ceramic flower feeder outside our study window. My wife's reading chair is right beside the window and she enjoys the birds being right there.

Gary, much details in that Raven. Thanks for the new thread.
Meth, super shot of the Hawk.
I keep hoping for the Nuthatches, to come to my feeders.
Duc Waxwing galore!!! neat Also like your shots of the birds with berries.
Reddirt, cute shot of the goldfinch, with that nice feeder.

Nice shots Reddirt, I like the Goldfinch/feeder, everyone has something neat to feed their bird's with. Burn, nice shots also, I want some shots of a Hairy now. lol Haven't had a lot of time since the time change to watch the feeder's that and I work afternoons maybe a Hairy WP has been visiting. I managed only a couple of shots today.

Red-breasted Nuthatch again lol, now there are 2 of them, when this one took off another one was right behind him, dont think its tried the suet log yet but were hoping.

WOW! Nice every one!! There still not much going on here...

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

Reddirt, cute Goldfinch! You picked a really cute feeder.
Burn, you have cute Goldfinches too. Loved the wp and your Jay is great. Nice job!
Burd, your Nuthatch is a cutie. Great shots of the Gulls too!

I've been practicing trying to get better photos of the Cedar Waxwings while they're still here.

These birds must have a finer textured feather because I can't seem to get the closer, clear, detail as I can with other birds. Has anyone else noticed this, or is it me?

Thumbnail by ducbucln
Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

While I was photographing the Waxwings, I heard a noise above me. Apparently this Turkey Vulture thought I was disturbing his early morning sunbathing session.
