Good Morning All
Hey Gypsies, it's a wild world
AHH I want one.
Morning Moon
Good Morning JJ. Hope some sun finds its' way into your day. The little Koala looks so content because DHJim is scratching his back....cute animals, but they can be quite dangerous...everyone overlooks those long claws....grin
Good morning Moon and JJ. And sleepy head Lynn.
Such a cute koala. Off to start the day, it's raining cats & dogs & probably poos too!
Lake effect rain. I've heard that twice in the past couple months. Never heard that term before.
Morning everyone! Koala looks so cuddly great start of a new day. I see sunshine peeking out yeahhhh.
Think lake effect rain means lots of rain in a short period of time, sorry Smilely thats a soaker.
Hi Smiley....check the bank...grin
Good Morning Flowers....got the tanks taken care of?
Here ya go guys.... http://weblogs.wgntv.com/chicago-weather/tom-skilling-blog/2009/05/is-there-such-a-thing-as-lakee.html
Yeah got em switched out but have a block about lighting them logs again smile. Hope things went good at school thing for you.
Smiley how did band concert go? Going to Thanksgiving parade with daughter and kids Saturday, can't wait---Love a Good Parade.
Hi from Joy in the North Midland s of England. That Koala would look perfect in my Eucalyptus tree, which I have in a big pot in my back garden.
I'm new to DG and I've read your lovely conversations for a while,and decided to join in [if thats ok] They say you should try new things,well thats my new thing for today:}
Hope your day goes well,
Best whishes
Joy
Good morning Joy, so glad you keyed up and we are always happy to see a new poster lol Jump in and enjoy our strange sense of humors!
Hi Joy. Welcome to the Gypsies....we are a chatty group from across the US. None of us have met face to face, but we do seem to have a meeting of the minds....which are all open....grin. Join us around the campfire and share stories and day to day living. We encourage pictures, teasing, kid stories, husband stories, work stories and good times. Please add a picture of your Eucalypt...the Koala is hungry....lol
Moon
Ok just downed the last cup in the pot. Gotta go play with the mechanic and tell him my car is going splutter bang putt but only when I give it gas LOL Have a Great Day All and will catch ya later on if I make it back.
Be careful Flowers. C ya later.
Hi Joy! I lurked around the forums for quite a while before I got the nerve to post, and they welcomed me with loving arms... *sniff*
Does that make us an International Band O Gypsies, Moon? Thanks for the rain link, All the years I've been in Buffalo, I never heard that term.
Band concert was good, Flowers. Of course, I can always pick out DD's clarinet ! I just love band concerts.
It certainly does if Miss Joy chooses to play....grin Just think how that will expand our horizons....yea, new plants to see and new traditions to learn.
Glad the concert went well...I could always pick out GSJordan's trumpet....grin (too many hours of listening to practice, lol)
Welcome Joy, the more the merrier!!
Flowers you don't have water in the gas do you?? Maybe try a can of heet.
We have a couple stations around me that get water in their gas regulary and will make the car miss and sputter.
JJ. saw an ad for a product that fixes strings of lights so you don't have to check each individual bulb....I will have to pay closer attention so i can get the name...duh. Will see if i can find it on line for ya.
That would be wonderful!! Those little lights make for big sore fingers...
Smiley I can get a poem started for you..inherited talent from my dad..
Up on the porch roof..click, click, click
There is JJ with a stick
Hanging lights one by one
Knees are knocking
BUT she's gettin er done..
I found it.....grin This seems like a fairly good investment as you use a large number of lights. Lowe's has lights on sale for $1.98 per 100 light strand....grin

Love the Poem, JJ....notice it is JJ and not DH out there....lol
Thanks Moon will check it out.
May be a trip to Lowes in my future.
At least we don't have to worry about you trying to bring the entire plant department home with ya....grin
No worries for the plant department...now the seasonal isle well if the price is right..usally after Christmas..
If I had to water and pot the decorations they would be safe too..LOL
Welcome Joy! I'm so happy to have someone from across the pond! :)
I gave up on the other thread, I was so far behind I couldn't remember what I wanted to post by the time I'd catch up...early senility and I guess lots of interruptions.
And hello to everybody else....(haha I almost missed the o on hello....that wouldn't have looked very friendly).
Ok here's my contribution to the thread title
is Moon here? I'm not goinna be on Long got a long drive ahead of me
Hi Joy! Sorry didn't mean to overlook you, Kinda in ahurry today BEen trying to ask Moon or Dave a question for more than 16 hours now....wow that's actually kinda patient for me! LOL
Seriously I always miss Moon and I think I fell asleep before Dave got on last night I have an urgent Orchid question Jean where are you?
Ask away, Trina
lol Trina....slow down & drive carefully! ;)
Moon did you go Roo Wrasslin' ?
Wow, two posts in the same minute...I am fast....lol
Alright here goes nothing, cause I gotta get moving
Moon as you know I got 2 orchids from walmart and yesterday I got 2 more, well about 20 min ago the 19 yo and the BF surprised me with the last 6 our Wal-Mart had because they dropped the price this am to $2 each....they are all so pot bound they pushed all the bark mix out of the plastic thingy they are in....If I find a nice log today while out with my mom, can I transfer the orchids to the log so that they can have more room?
That was taken at Steve Erwin's Australia Zoo. Very laid back Roos. Discovered that all things considered, Roos are a bit lazy....grin Quite content to lay in the sun and be scratched...grin
How was the play?
Awwwwww........ Lynnieeeeeeee......... so cute!!!
JJ, love your poem. I'm working on it, I'm working on it.
That depends on what type of orchid they are. Some are epiphytes that do well with roots exposed, others require more moisture trapping material for their roots. If ya get a log that you can make wire pockets on to hold medium that would work.
I like roos, lazy...yes, obnoxous at 5 am...most definately....when my dad was sent to Australia for a brief period we got to go too, and one use to beat on the back of the house every morning at 5 am...discovered the people that use to live thier fed it like a pet...My little sister kept trying to bring a koala home with her
it was very cute, it was about the size of a person's heart being more important than the size of their physical self.
ok thanks...I think most of the are the phaleanopsis (sp?) type they are the ones they sell as 'Ice Orchids' at wal-mart...you know just put 3 ice cubes a week in the container that's all they need (total BS)
Had to laugh at myself Lynn. Read your post and was trying to figure out how that applied to the joey...lol.
Sounds like a good thing for kids to learn.....bet it was cute.
