That no good for you Bill .Takes years and happiness off your life. I try to catch myself. We should be happy to have all the food in our markets.
Speaking of which, HappyThanksgiving!
Celleste, best wishes.

Maria - we don't put up with you. On the contrary, you help enrich our lives!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Here , Here! I applaud what Victor said Maria, you remind us of harder times and remind us all to be thankful for what we do have. I think we all need a little reminder from time to time, I know I do. So I thank you for all your wisdom and the kindness with which you deliver it. Happy Thanksgiving!

Celeste - how stressful for you....I hope DD and DGD turn the corner soon!! Keeping them and you in my prayers. Hope you have a nice Thanksgiving despite this concern!

Maria - yes, I so agree....you are a treasure and we are all lucky you make the effort with the certain frustration of your AMD to enrich our Forum! Thank you!

OMG I can't believe what I just read about knocking over seniors and walking away! Although I will say that I grabbed one from out of the path of a C-Train during Stampede this summer and got treated like I was mugging him. That being said I would do it again in a moment! Ditto to Victor. If it wasn't for a wonderful 87 year old mentor when I was a seedling methinks I wouldn't be here now. I also want to say that I may have VERY exciting news for Phoebes cuz Methusala (the unkillable AV) has decided that she needs company. Actually I think she's just being grumpy cuz I brought in a begonia and put it beside her. ANYHOO I would like one of those prettiful variegated ones you have Phoebes.

Lastly, but mostly importantly, HAPPY THANKSGIVING to you and yours everyone. I will be hand-holding a client tomorrow cuz for some stupid reason we're actually expected to work on US Turkey Day :(

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Well, please Dnut, enjoy our US holiday as your own..^_^ I think we should enjoy the Canadian Tday as well!!

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Thanks everso venu. I started celebrating US Turkey day when I lived in Vancouver BC and half my friends were from Seattle (lots of job cross bordering there) and THEN when I moved here and met and married my beluved and he nicely asked me to please stop living on airplanes and maybe be here for awhile lo and behold I spend mostly alot of time with US peoples in my work so of coursely if there is ANY excuse to have another Turkey Day I'm in! ps I still think tthis could be considered a SERIOUS international incident that we don't recognize US Turkey Day

South Hamilton, MA

I don't see many of us celebrating Canadian TG in Oct. so it must be tit for tat. Having it so late in the yr in Lincoln's fault because of the Civil War.

I thought turkey was bad for dogs???

love the photo though!!

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Turkey skin is bad for dogs.

I love that photo Maria! You're a strong woman and a sweetheart too. So are you Victor! Well, about the sweetheart part. What a guy.

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

Samson does not get any people food but a piece of turkey on TG without fat nor skin is OK once in a while.

Newport News, VA(Zone 11)

Hope you both enjoy it Maria! Have a good time!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Glad so many of you have had a nice Thanksgiving!

Maria - that is a lovely photo. I've said this before, but it is worth saying again that you are a beautiful lady - and your pup is no slacker either! LOL

NuttyD - please get in that kitchen and whip up a little Turkey dinner to join in the celebration with us! We must avert an international incident at all costs! And BTW, I believe I see my prettiful red dahlias peaking through the soil here today.

Finally, you cannot imagine how thankful I am for all my DG friends, who are just the Bestest!!! I count my blessings often and you are all on my list, as you add so much fun and so much caring, and you are all so gracious in sharing your knowledge and experience. I truly value each of you and thank you for all that you bring to my life!

Maria, you are a lovely woman, and your doggie is just the kind of puppie I really love. I must say you really inspired me to look at the blessings I have today.

And nothing stopped me from eating too much, good grief I'm stuffed.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

It is the day afterThanksgiving, I had a wonderful time with my family. The buffet just groaned with its heavy load of food. Everything tested delicious. Daughter set a lovely table, the silver and dishes just sparkled from the candlelight. My Son-in-law took some pictures, I hope to forward some as soon as I get them.

I thank all of you for your kind comments about the photo with me and Samson, hope to see you later in the new Christmas thread....Maria

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

Can't wait to see the pictures Maria.

My daughters dishwasher broke down just before Thanksgiving, and she ran out and got some of the most beautiful paper (actually plastic) plates I have ever seen for the appetizers, and pie after the meal, etc. For the main course we had real plates, and you're right, they look so beautiful in the candlelight.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

We ate out. It was very good and it wasless hectic but it is weird not tohave leftovers.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

leftovers are the reason for t-day - just had a great t-sandwich!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

We'll be having them tonight! Fresh cranberries (requested by my son, who saw it on the FN) turned out very nice. He helped make them.

Thomaston, CT
