Picnickers don't like Kookaburras, Pelle. They're not shy about swooping down and relieving people of their food. I doesn't matter to the Kookaburra if a greasy barbequed snagger is still on a plate or about to be put into some unsuspecting mouth; anything is fair game. Scares the beejeebers out of kids and overseas visitors. LOL
DAILY PICS - VOL. 255
Ahhh, now I really dream of pinicking in Perth with my future grandchildren. But will be sure to bring lots and lots extra snacks. Thanks Margaret for sharing. Wonderful pix everyone. Too many I can't possibly remark on everyone's. Love, love that Flicker, although our State bird, I recalled I saw but one in late spring here.
Wow, such a number and the variety! Pretty dove, Rose.
Am enjoying the pics you guys! Didn't get down to the lake yesterday. Thought I would go today but is a little chilly and down by the water I would be freezing!! Maybe tomorrow....
Nice shots GP...I'm wondering if the mild weather has delayed the arrival of the Buntings. I know the Indigos were here about a month longer than last year. I think they stayed here due to the abundance of natural food.
Nice shore birds Red.
Mrs. Ed...that is the cutest female Purple Finch. I love how they arrive and just pick up where they left off!! Love the camo White-throated and the Blue Jay with the Aussie accent!! LOL!
I thought all the winter birds had arrived but forgot about the Fox Sparrows...this one showed up today.
Wow, so many great shots in just a few hours!!
Rose, Congratulations on getting the beautiful Eurasian Collared Dove!
Red, I love the Pipits!
Mrs Ed, Great camo shot and sweet female Purple Finch!
GP, I love the shots of the White Ibis and Vulture!
I hope you are right, Rose...I will be very unhappy if I don't get my regular visitors here this winter.
Hey Rose, do you get the American Tree Sparrows down there? I'll know it's winter when they and the redpolls arrive.
I'll be starting a new thread tomorrow so bear with me please!
Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe this is a Red-tailed Hawk...dark-phase
Yep, Red-tailed Hawk, first-year.
