I'm so glad you are home safe.
Thank you everyone for all your kind thoughts these past few days. It was a bit stressful but we came out of it just fine.
Well. Pat, so glad you are back from Wally World all safe and sound!! I hope you get enough rest before school tomorrow:), my grandma use to call those sorts of things "making memories".

I know it's been horrible for you.Many years ago we went on a vacation from h*** also.We went through torrential rain storms,a mudslide where we were stuck at the bottom of a canyon(when we got out long after dark a brand new beautiful motel took us in and gave us the executive suite even though we were covered in mud from our hair to our toes and filthy).We went through the eye of a tornado and got to a small town where nobody would let you use a basement.We stuffed the two little boys under a booth in a cafe and watched trees and debris blowing at us.I was never so glad to get home.....but as we entered Omaha a tornado went over and nearly blew us off a bridge!!
As horrible as it was,everyone got home safe...Thank God......and we kept the map of that trip with little funnel clouds and all sorts of things drawn on it for over 30 years.It became quite the conversation piece LOL.

So glad you made it home safe, Pat :) You will really have an exciting story to tell tomorrow. You need a vacation from your vacation LOL! Wow, Lynn...that was a vacation that just wasn't meant to be. That trip had to be scary. Tornadoes are never a good thing. We have ran into a lot of bad weather including ice storms and when you make it home you look back and know you had angels with you when you are on nothing buts sheets of ice and have to bang on the car door to open it because it is frozen shut and you can't get out.

Thank you to each and every one of you. You have helped keep my spirits up throughout this "vacation". Laura, you made me laugh when you mentioned "making memories". The day we left home we made the comment that we were off on a new adventure and would be making memories. Did we ever!!!
I bet everyone has a vacation horror story to tell. Life never seems to go quite as we plan. Maybe that little "guardian angel" that a friend gave us to clip on our visor worked her magic for us.
So glad you and you husband have made it home. Who knew when you started out that it would be this adventurous! As long as your safe, that the important thing! Now you need to rest up from your "retreat", ha. tish
I put my pictures on the computer and let my students watch a slideshow of all the flooding we were in. Then we went to the big wall map and tracked the storm up the coast from North Carolina to New Jersey. It did some serious damage to the Jersey coastline too. The kids were amazed that a storm that started so far away could do so much damage where we live too.

Is everyone stuffed yet??? We had one last saturday and ours at our house is this saturday. Today we have made (and ate) some pies, cakes and maybe cookies before the nights over! Pigged out on junk food, riblettes, dips chips pizzia oh yeah then hubby broke out the Asti, well, better slow down on that or theres going to be some interesting desserts! LOL
