Does anyone know what this is on the leaves of my Witch Hazel? Should I be concerned? Favorit tree in my whole yard - I don't want to lose it!
Thanks,

Help! Hamamelis 'Brevipetal'
It looks to me like it's galls. There's an aphid that causes galls on witch hazel--here's a little info (scroll down to the bottom of the page for witch hazel) http://www.ca.uky.edu/entomology/entfacts/ef403.asp I'm not super familiar with this particular type of gall, but most galls don't do much harm to the plant.
Thanks! Crazy winter, haven't had time to go on on-line! Great to know not harmful - too bad so ugly!
