I thought it would be fun if people would like to post their pumpkins or their neighbors pumpkins. While I no longer carve pumpkins, I do paint them. Here are some I painted (using acryllics). Let your imagination take you away!
This is snaggletooth. He needs to see a dentist! LOL!
Great Pumpkins
The Green Meanie.
Cute!!!
Looks like Peanut was rolling in the Straw.
RRM
Last one from me. I want to see what you all come up with now!
I couldn't resist the Sunflower. Couldn't find the Autumn leaves one, so I didn't get a photo. : - (
Don't forget to take your camera's with you trick or treatin' and show us what you've all been doing to those pumpkins!
Buddy is washing my hair. Which is really hard for him considering how long it is. Too distracting!
Must play with Buddy!

Yup, she was. She was abandoned on the road by our farm. I named her after the camp fire song, "Found a Peanut". She is our official greeter. Customers might not know our names, but they know the dogs. LOL!
Buddy is now out of my hair and is pretending to be a scarf.
Here is one of DH driving the tractor pulling the hay ride.

Liked your pic. I'll see what I caN find.

Great pumpkins, SW! Happy Halloween!
I didn't carve or paint any this year, but DS and his friend Megan brought us one he had carved for a work potluck on Monday. He was going to bring 2 (and the first one was pretty fantastic----since my hard drive crashed I lost the photo but I'll try to get it from DH) but he made the mistake of putting a plastic bag around it to try to keep some moisture in it. Of course it turned to compost by yesterday. But the one he brought was an homage to Van Goghs' Starry Night. It's definitely easier to see when it's lit up, so I'll try to take a picture tonight & post it.
We went thru 11 bags of mini-Hersheys....a lotta kids! DH always goes over the top when he decorates for Halloween, and he gets rave reviews from our "patrons".
Great color, RRM!
We had one little witch visit us yesterday - our neighbor from across the street came by to show off her costume. I wish I had taken a picture.
Have you heard about "Trick or Trunk" - "Trunk or Treat" - or tailgate Trick or Treating? My cousin's daughter, who is a schoolteacher, posted some photos on her FB page, or I wouldn't know about it. Churches, schools, and some other groups arrange for a secure parking area where folks park their cars and decorate their trunks. Then the kids can go from car to car safely. Some of them get pretty fancy. If you google "trick or trunk" or the other terms, you can see what they are doing.
Too bad kids can't enjoy Halloween the way we used to. We had some neighbors that made great candy/caramel apples, cupcakes, and all kinds of goodies, plus the great decorations.
I saw that on a couple of churches down here and wondered what they were.
That is a great thing to do for kids. Yes, you just can't trust everyone in the world, like when we were kids.
I believe it is the way they are to let grow upo without any restrictions. We have serious
turn outs if we didnt mind. Isn't that True?
Yes, he is beautiful, what you can't see is the mud. He loves to roll in dirt!!!
RRM
I still love him.....
I love watching equines roll in the dirt. My view out the kitchen window is of our neighbors' yard, with two horses and a donkey. Lots of rolling goes on over there, especially right after a bath!
Oh, drat. I just realized I can't post any pix, because this laptop I'm using temporarily doesn't have my camera software on it. Hopefully my memory will be jogged when I get my new computer and download whatever photos I have!
Ima, have you tried using Picasa? Doesn't matter what camera you use, as long as the computer can talk to it. It's a great free program.
RRM, they look so fluffy! Are they getting ready for winter? Does it get cold there? Nice to know I have a namesake (my middle name is Isabelle)!
Also got a sister to Isabelle, her name is Annabelle, she didn't get in the pic that day.
Yes, it is getting colder now. Don't even want to think of it. It is not as harse as
what I had growing up in Missouri, but it is still cold. I'm just getting old. That little A.T.
my DH named him. RRM
Ka, I appreciate the suggestion, but the camera can't talk to this laptop. This laptop can't multitask (must be a guy----ooops---sorry, gentlemen!) I'm trying to just hang in there till my new one arrives, which is supposed to be Wed. I haven't talked to the client yet whose stuff I was working on when it crashed, and which I lost. I sure hope she's still my client....especially since she's my first and ONLY client, at this point!!
Too bad, Ima. My laptop(s) are hand-me-downs from DH, so they usually have all the goodies. That being said, his present machine talks to the camera easier than the one I have! With technology, it's hard to win. :-)
Ain't that the truth? I'm totally LOST without a 'puter....even this throwback is better than nothing!
Okay, I didn't get a single trick or treater. The whole time we've lived here, we've only ever had one family come by trick or treating. I think we gave them Honey Bears, 'cause we had no candy.
I love the way that this thread has meandered all over the place. : - )
Ima, can't wait for you to get your computer/camera situation straitened out!
I did have my son and his girlfriend visiting. For the first time in years my Eldest child carved a Jack O'Lantern. Was I surprised. I was even more surprised that his GF had never carved a Jack O'Lantern.
This is the one my son carved. He left some of the string hanging out on purpose because he wanted it to look like it was drooling. LOL!
Cute as can be!
RRM
Looks like a kitty cat.
RRM
Not the best photo, but here they are together.
Hope everyone had a Happy Halloween.
Personally, I'd like to rig a sling shot out of some surgical tubing and launch some of them pumpkins as far as I can. My neighbors used to drop theirs off the roof and smash them. Not so much satisfaction when you live in a single story house.
Maybe a catapult. There is always next year. : - )
WIB,
SW
They get to rest now. They did a good job.
Cute little pumpkins.

Actually they are going into the mulch pile. They are starting to go bad and I don't want it all over my front bench. Yuck!
It was fun to watch ES's GF, carve her very first kitty pumpkin. I am surprised that she never got to do it before.
It was fun.
We still have Thanksgiving and Christmas to come too.
WIB,
SW
Memories, sweet memories.
I love them, don't you??
RRM
Yup, sweet memories, and they left pumpkin guts on the butcher block in the kitchen for me to clean up. Still it was a lot of fun for ES's GF. She is such a sweet young woman, I can't believe that she never carved one before. She has hidden talents, especially if that was her first attempt.
I've told both ES and his GF, that she is much too good for him, but she really does care for him and she makes him laugh. I like that a lot.
As you say, RRM, Memories, sweet memories. : - )
I didn't even mind cleaning up the pumpkin guts.

Now THAT, ladies and gentlemen, is the Good Mom Poster Child!!!
Sw you did an awesome job on your pumpkins!!! We celebrate at our church which provides a safe place for the kids. They get to play games and win candy even if they loose.
That is the way of it anymore, Marie. We had the patch open on Halloween day, but not the Tree of Terror. Calvary Chapel puts on a big free party for the kids just down the road. We're okay with it. We only want what is safe for the kids. We concentrate on the Harvest theme so it's not scary in the PPatch. We made our expenses and had enough left over for Pizza. LOL!
Still want a pumpkin launcher for after wards. Next year!
We will sell the rest of the pumpkins the weekend before Thanksgiving or they will go to feed the critters.
They don't go to waste.

Pumpkin catapault design & competition was a yearly post-Halloween project that DS's HS physics teacher did. I think they split up into 2 teams & each team built their own design. He is such a terrific teacher, and was a huge influence on DS & the college & career choices he made. It was a real blast to watch the pumpkins sailing. Maybe you could get your Scout troops that visit the farm to do something like that for next fall?
