Can plants recover after frost?

Atascadero, CA

We have been having weather in the 70's during the day and 40's at night. Most of my plants were still going strong(tomatoes, squash, peppers, potatoes) and had new fruit/veggies growing. 2 nights ago the temperature dropped to about 29F and we had a horrible frost. This was MUCH lower than expected and nothing was protected. Most of the leaves turned a dark green and look like they are wilting. Some of the plants are still flowering though. The question is.... can anything recover, or do I just pick what I have even if they are not fully ripe??

Plants will survive a light frost but a hard frost will usually wipe them out. Your potatoes might be ok. They can withstand a good bid of cold when they are young. If yours are older it might kill them.
