I had a small group of Chipping Sparrows pass thru yesterday morning..

Nice ones of the Sandhill Cranes, Lin. Ahh those chipping sparrows are cute, Nanny.

These pair of Pekin ducks are found here year round. I don't feed them. But I understand some of my neighbors do. They're a pleasant sight when they visit.

One can also see my grains feeder on the foreground -- which is quite deserted most time when there are so many other food sources in the garden this time of year. (berries and such).

Wow, you've been busy today, Burd. Nice shots

Thx crazybirdlady51 the Junco's are now eating from underneath the feeder here, which is what I was hoping for. The last shot look's like it may be a White-crowned Sparrow.

Never mind you may be right with Song S.

I am loving all of these bird photo's ... especially the ones of birds I don't see in my area!

Bluejays are very common here in Florida and one of my favorite backyard birds. We had lots of nests this past spring and early summer. There were baby jays hopping from branch to branch in the trees waiting to be fed, but this one was shy and didn't venture too far from the nest for awhile. It was fun watching the adults feeding all the babies. One day I counted 14 baby jays in this tree!

I may have shown this photo before and if so, I apologize. This picture was taken last year when we had Red-bellied babies. This baby would cling to the side of a Norfolk Island Pine tree waiting for papa to feed it.

Very nice pics plant! Wow 14 Blue Jay babies in one tree.

(Zone 1)

Yes, it was really fun to watch so many babies and they were quite loud when the adults came to feed them! It was strange this year, we had a few Blue Jay nests in trees in our backyard and the neighbor behind us had a few Northern Cardinals nesting in her yard. The tree that is right in front of the one the baby jay is in is an old Camphor Tree and a pair of Downy Woodpeckers chipped out a nest hole and raised at least one baby this past spring. The female didn't seem to mind my presence in the yard and around the tree but the male got very agitated whenever I was out in the yard near that tree when he was around. I have a couple of pictures of the male Downy at the feeder and one of the female at the entrance to the nest cavity.

This is the male Downy at the feeder

Lot's of birds here today and the number of Dark-eyed Junco's has increased dramatically! Another bird that there is a good number of here is White-throated Sparrow.

Taken through the window. Such handsome little birds.

That is a handsome little bird! I keep saying the Northern Cardinal and the Blue Jay are my favorites but really, I can't say I have a "favorite" because I really do love them all!

What is wrong with this Grackle? Notice he has white on his feet too. Really makes him look rageddy.

Looks like some white pigmentation... even into the bill, neat pic though Pelle.

Hey, looks like someone got to close with some bleach. (It wasn't me, Margaret!).

(Zone 1)

Wow! An almost psychedelic Grackle! That is a neat picture ... it does look like he was splattered with bleach! (and even though these birds can be pesky, it wasn't me either!) ^_^
