we have had them really bad here this year, they are everywhere, I thought by now that they would be gone. it is in the 50's here tonight and it suppose to be in the 60's all week.
the only reason that I looked is because I made the mistake one time going out barefoot in the summer and didn't look and stepped on one.
My daughter Morgan got me also one night we came home and came in the back door and she had me grab the door knob and I got a hand full of slug.
HOW ABOUT THEM SLUGS? GRIN
lol a prankster, huh?
yes anything to get mom, that's ok she will be 16 in March we'll see who will be able to drive or not.
you're a brave woman!
Got to be when you have 7. Just found out today that my oldest son will be home Tueday, I haven't seen him since Christmas.
You know, slugs sort of look like leaches!!!! I am creeped out!
Well, you sluggers, I am signing off for tonight. I am going to try to get to bed earlier tonight.
Night all! Have very sweet dreams!!
yikes! there were 8 of us growing up,but I wasn't the parent so it was fun for me!
Wow that's great to be able to see your son after all that time!
night venice my eyes are drooping here too,I tend to doze off on the computer stplong just to warn you lol
It's not so bad, my oldest is 24 and she has a 3 year old, then there is my 22 year old son he lives in Fayetteville, he is coming back to Oh while his wife gets sent to Colorado. then I have a 19 year old son, he lives in Troy Ohio with his girlfriend. then My 15 year old daughter lives in Troy with my ex. my 12 year old daughter lives with me, my 10 year old son lives in Troy with my ex. and then my husband and I have a soon to be 5 year old daughter..
My youngest brother has 8 kids. ages 14 to 3 months. 7 boys and 1 girl. I would have my hair pulled out by now. At least there are years between my kids. and I am out of the diaper and potty training stage. now it is just the mouthy teenage stage.
I usually am up until 2 or 3 and then back up at 6.
she keeps my hours...LOL have to claim me time when ya can right?
that's right that is the only time that I can sew and get anything done
exactly! you know out of all the trades i did the hibiscus you sent is the only one that lived!
are you serious, all of those coleus didn't make it?
no nononono....I traded like 6 other people for rooted hibiscus cuttings and yours is the only one still alive
helllllooooooooooo out there?
oh ok, sorry I was playing a game. what kind of brugs do you have? Patrick just went out and cut ours back and they are here in the house now, we had 2 differnt ones, one was cotton candy and the other was yellow
I don't have any anymore because, sigh, they got sick and all died, I don't know what happened....honestly I think it was the dog...she poisoned them some how I just know it...revenge because I wouldn't let her eat them!
we got these 2 last year from someone from DG but now they are mixed, when Patrick was cutting them Lexies put them in the same bucket.
our dogs fight over the old hibiscus blooms that fall
lol...at least there not pulling them off the hibiscus!
Morning all! Everybody ready for Monday?
Up & at 'em Smiley!
I'm here! I'm here! Took me a while to catch up.
Slugs, ugh. That's where I came in to this group. After seeing "I have slugs" hit the top of the chart every day I had to check it out.
That's why I say "no hosta's". It's really "no slugs" , although I still get the darned things, but not as bad as when I had hostas.
Everyone have a good Monday!

I don't have any hostas, (no shade) so I never made that connection....
Good Morning Lynnie and Smiley. I have a bunch of hostas and very few slugs....we have loads o'toads who dine on the slugs. While weeding and mulching in one of the shade beds, I disturbed (read ticked off) 17 nice fat toads...the balance has finally turned in my favor....grin
Smiley, don't forget the bank, but most importantly...have a good Monday (make believe it is Tuesday....grin)
Lynnie, are you off today? Did DH get your car started? If you are off, ya oughta go find a big pot of pansies, or a new pair of shoes...you deserve a treat after taking such good care of your FIL...grin
Be safe and stay warm and dry, Ladies...later, Moon
uhg it's raining AGAIN! oh well I guess I will be digging Bears Breetches up in the rain!
Hello?
no one's here at all?
HELLO? Is there anybody out there?
Hi Trina, are you alone? Must be a busy day for everyone. it is nice here have alot to do today, we still hve to bring in the rest of the plants from the garage, but don't know where to put them. only 2 more bedrooms to take over.
lunchtime! I'm late today. It's someone's birthday here today so we ordered from Fuddruckers. I got the tricked out nacho's and they forgot the darned guacamole. What's nacho's without guacamole, I ask???
it seems for most of the day I am alone stplong, but smiley there pops in occassionally and sometimes venice or Moon
I'm working 8 - 4:30. Sometimes if it's not too busy, I go on. Otherwise, I try to discipline myself not to go online because it's hard to NOT jump in and say hello to everyone.
Trina, I sent the abominable sweet peas today. I didn't know if I should trim those giant taproots or not, so I didn't.
Back to work, see you all later. Have a good day.
sweat peas from smiley yeah!!!!!!!!! Thanks to all you guys I am going to have a really cool and interesting mix in my backyard...yeehaw, already trying to sort through some things....ehehehehhe

OK, got it.......
non-toxic “Garden Safe” brand of slug & snail bait from Wal-Mart – non-toxic to pets and wildlife - but others have assembled their own “arsenals” of ways to lure the slimy things to their dooms. Here are some from “Lilium List” moderator Ken Hixson:
Slug "beer"--1 cup water, 1 teaspoon sugar, 1/4 teaspoon yeast
a teaspoon vinegar is sometimes added
Slug "dough"--1 tbsp molasses, 3 tbsp cornmeal, 1/2 cup flour,
1/2 cup water, 1/2 tbsp yeast-
unused portions may be kept in the refrigerator
