A rainy day in Ga. Hey!!! Dee, Elizabeth aND Jori, how are you all doing??
Got Rain and have to go feed the longears here in a little bit. I feed them about 3:oo.
If not they start braying. They will let me know when it is time.
My little Noid is still blooming overhere in her waterbucket. Better catch tat bug, I bet it is a little
renegade grasshopper. Can't tell.
Charleen

Hamilton, OH

Charlene
I will catch that bug, I am sorry you have to water the long ears in the rain, for awhile earlier, I thought it was going to rain here, I bet Dee is getting rain allready, you know a good idea hit me, you know all those old bills that you put through the shredder, well. they make good packing for clippings, plus they don't weigh anything, I sent out a box oc clipping I stuffed it with all that shredded papers, the clippings didn't even move, just thought I would share that
Elizabeth

All right, but Lordy, at the mess!!! Get the vacuum out!!!
I got my Bread machine making wheatbread. I think I should have started it this morning. Oh, well , it will taste good whenever it gets done. My cousin gave it to me when I went to Mo. this summer. Makes my second loaf of bread. Husband said not to use it too much.Know why?? It is too good not to eat!!! It tastes so good to just put butter on it and eat! YUMMY!!!!!
I got the donkey critters and the famous Charley fed. Those girls on the Goth link love Charley. I do too. He sure is wet too,
I have a carport for them to get under and once in awhile they do. They like to stand under an oak tree that is in their pasture.

Charlene
I bet you havea blast with those babies, you can tell by the way you talk about them, that is your babies, it has started to rain here, I would love some of your homemade bread, for the last few years I have had to make biscuits for my middle GD, she wouldn't let her brother have one out of 3 that I sent her home with, now I give all 3 GK's one each, & they usually eat 1 or 2 here before they go home, I guess I will have to show her how I make them
Elizabeth

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Yes, she should like that. That will be a good memory, Granny teaching her to make biscuits. That is beautiful memory.
Smells, kids remember that too. I never learned to make biscuits til I came down here. the it was with 5 lbs. Whitelily selfrising flour ,I gal Buttermilk and two handfuls of lard or shortening. i worked in a convenience store and they made breakfast biscuits. "Catheads" they call them Biscuits as bigas a cat's head. cut hem out with a 1 lb. coffecan.
Now, girls, let's go make biscuits ^_^
Charleen

Hamilton, OH

Charlene
I use regular flour, with baking powder, salt buttermilk & shortening, they look like yeast rolls, some days when it gets cold, I make them with eggs sausage gravy, fried apples & potatoes for supper, not that often, just ever once in a great while, I also hand roll mine
Elizabeth

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

These were hand rolled too. It was right after I moved down here. That selfrising flour already has baking powder in it. I use it all the time now. I mixed it all by hand and rolled them out. good biscuits too. It has been a very long time since I made that many. But your meal sounds good too. Bet the kids love that, I know my DH would. Do you fry the apples and potatoes together?? Sounds good,
Charleen

Hamilton, OH

Charlene
I fry them seperate, the kids do love it, it was soo funny when my GD, that lives with me was a baby, she loved the biscuits, I gave her one & she was smacking her lips, I think she was 2yrs at the time, now she is 8yrs old, her brother is the baby I was talking about, they both, live with us, their mother is my youngest of 3 DD's, rent & everything else is just too high for her to make it on her own, every once in awhile I look at the classified just to see what they are charging
to rent even a small place, it's awful
Elizabeth

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Prices for rent are rediculous for poor people. I know about poor folks, but there is folks worse off than us. Think of the enjoyment you get from the babies. Oh, Elizabeth, I can smell the bread baking. MMMM I had beeferoni for supper. Was good. I made enough for your family too. Now I got leftovers. DH likes it better 2nd day , it's about the only leftover he will eat. He is not much on left overs.
I don't care if I did eat, I'm going to eat a slice of that warm bread.

You girls are making me hungry.mmm-mmmm. I'm just here for a few minutes, till supper's ready.
Peach Taffy is very pretty Elizabeth, but you're right, it does look like Frosty pink.
Charleen of course those girls love Charlie...just look at him....he is adorable!
Dee

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Thank you, Dee. He is beautiful. They would love him too for he loves attention.
I looked out there and they were running in the rain. They were so happy. They
love the cooler weather.
but they will drop and roll in that mud , just as much as tey do the dust and dirt.
Charleen

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

I'd love to see them rolling in the mud. Sounds like they are having lots of fun! I just love critters..lol. I get tickeled at Scooter..our white dog..he will come in from being out side sometimes , with his head just black, where he has been digging in the dirt....doing what dogs do..lol I tell my husband, that scooter can't help it, that he was born white..lol
Dee

Hamilton, OH

Dee
it's good to see you, after supper is over maybe you'll have more time, I guess it's time to talk Brugs
so hurry back
Elizabeth

Hamilton, OH

Charlene
I would love to see them running & rollin, I bet it is funny to watch them, I wish I lived where we could have some kind of critters, I used to have a pet racoon, Rocky
Elizabeth

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

I'll be back in a little while, ladies
Dee

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

I love animals, that is why DH won't take me to the pet shops.
He has to keep me on a tight rein.
Charleen

Hamilton, OH

Charlene
I love animals too, if I could I would have a lot of them, but one thing if you ever get hampsters, don't get a male & a female, I let my DD have the tiny ones thinking they wouldn't breed like the bigger ones well they did, so we had to get rid of all 36 of them from 2 parents, I said never again
Elizabeth

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

We had Hamsters when we were kids. My Mom
would get so aggravated when one got out.
O.K. Brugs. What about them?
Mine is still blooming andthe ones outside are too. They
are a lighter pink. Still raining too.
Charleen

Hamilton, OH

Charlene
it's still raining here also, my Versa color orange is still blooming outside, I did get clipping off of it, but I am leaving it out, just to see how long it makes it in this zone, you just took clippings off yours too? we will know how tough, they are
have you mulched yours?
Elizabeth

Hamilton, OH

Charlene
have you got the h1n1 flu shot? I am getting a flu shot but not that one, it's suppose to have mercury in it, I just watched a news clip from 1976 when the had the swine flu scare, people that were normally healthy ended up a cripple, after they got that shot, I told my DD, I didn't want the GK's to take that flu shot, just the regular one
Elizabeth

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

No, I didn't last year either. I guess I could. But it grew so good.
I am so proud of her. I really don't know what I am going to do with the one that is still
blooming. I don't want to toss it. I might just put them in soda bottles and give them away,
can't make up my mind. Decisions, decisions.
Charleen

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Elizabeth, that is anther decision that is extremely difficult. My DH says he is going to get one. I don't want the flu but I don't want to take that shot either. My Dr. didn't ask and I didn't either.
Charleen

Hamilton, OH

Charlene
I go through that every year, with these Brugs, I was going to down size, then I end up with 20-25 new ones, some grow so well, from a little clipping to a 7ft tree, they are all sooo pretty, & the fragrance gets ya hooked, hopefully next spring I can have my own crosses, then I'll have a bunch of seeds too share, I would love to cross Angels exotic with Miss emily Mckenzie, to have a huge double pink bloom
Elizabeth

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

Ok, I'm back. They are all so pretty, aren't they, and just a little bit different.I just can't believe how easy most of them are to grow. It makes me want them all.
Dee

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

I was writting to the Calf. Girls and they are so nice. One told me she was "brug serial killer" I think that is what she said.
Evidently they don't do well out there. Even in pots. Poor girls. You know I'm trying to give these blooms cuttings way before they are even cut.
Charleen

Hamilton, OH

Charlene
I love the doubles, I just wish they would all drop like Bon Bon, buy you're about some of them looking like roses
Elizabeth

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Mike had that was called "Confusion" that was a pretty double. Do the ones with the skirts sometimes have two colors? I can't remember seeing that, have you???
Charleen

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

I set up my second grow light today, in the dining room.I moved the more established cuttings out there, and left the ones that are just starting in the incabater...thats what I'm calling the spare bathroom now, since I have a space heater and humidafier in there.I read that the cuttings like it 70 and above while forming roots, but once established, that they can grow on at lower temps. And we do turn the heat down at night.
Dee

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

Confusion is neat, isn't it Charleen? I think thats the one that Mike said reminds him of pod people, so that's what I think of everytime I see it. I can't remember the name most of the time...lol
Dee

Hamilton, OH

Dee
good for you, sounds like a great set up, I can see that it will work
Elizabeth

Hamilton, OH

Charlene
there is a lemon meringue, that has 2 different colors, mine is really small but next year it will be big, I like mikes plants also, he has some nice ones
Elizabeth

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

That's confusion!!! I like the names that they come up with. What's Pod People??
Payday is nearly here from where I used to work. Be glad. got so much I want
want some Orchid soil and some kind of rock for my cacti. Scared to death I'll overwater them and they will die.
Plants are so tempermental.
Charleen

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Lemon Meringue sounds deliscious. I bet it is pretty too. i have all my babies right here under my desk. I can just pull them out whenever Iwant to see them.
Charleen

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

He had one post over on the garden web that was titled invasion of the pod people..lol...sounds like a horror show to me...but I think it was because the way the flower buds looked and opened.I guess some of them open from the side of the bloom...
Dee

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

sounds interesting, doesn't it?
Charleen

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

Yes, it does, and I like any kind of bloom that's different.
I know what you mean about wanting things and waiting on payday. Seems like I'm always waiting on payday..
Dee
