Elizabeth

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

Do either one of you girls grow azaleas? They always die on me, but I got 3 on sale... real cheap, so I decided to try them one more time...

I have been using the peatmoss ever since 2007, it was funny, I had these clippings in water after about 3 days, they started smelling awful, so I emptied the buckets of water in the basement, the guys installing my washer & dryer, poor things they had to come up for air, it smelled like rotten vegatation, that's when I decided to use the peatmoss, it has worked well ever since
Elizabeth

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

Finally got ...Great to see pics of it..
Dee

Hamilton, OH

Dee
there's also a method called BoB, buckets of Brugs, where you use a fishtank bubbler in water, to keep you clippings form smelling, a lot of people use that also
Elizabeth

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

I hadto put Cinnamon powder this afternoon, it helps fight infection. The EE I don't want anything to happen to them, I have been watching them. I know I worry too much but Spring is a long way off and I want them to make it. Now, that is wht I smell.
Charleen

Hamilton, OH

Dee
glad you got to finally see it, good info. it helps to see pic's of it, very good illustration
Elizabeth

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

Charleen, are any of the EE's sprouting yet? you would not believe the itty bitty starts that I stuck in a pot together, and they are coming up..a lot littler than some I sent to you..
Dee

Hamilton, OH

Charlene
good idea, cinnamon is a great smell, they come out with those cinnamon coated pinecones at Christmas time at Lowes, I can't believe they have Christmas trees up & it isn't even Halloween yet, even though it's my favorite time of year, besides Spring
Elizabeth

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

Elizabeth, on my NOID, I had two good super straight trunks, so I cut them both off, and stuck them in a bucket of water, because I was short on moss, and they are getting nubbies. I have just been changing the water everyday..
Dee

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

They sure do have Christmas trees up at Lowes, Home Depot , WalMart and Lord knows where else.
They exploint Christmas. But I still love it. So Could be worse.
Charleen

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

I love Christmas, too, but they do start too early..
Dee

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

The tuberroses look like they are sprouting new groth and maybe the Persian palm., Dee.

Hamilton, OH

Dee
if you change the water everyday, you should be fine with it, but that smell of roted vegatation smells awful, changing the water everyday is a good idea
Elizabeth

Hamilton, OH

Charlene
