GYPSIES REMEMBER BASIL part 4
here I am I found the seed and plant trading forums oh and tropical fruit
it's cool I can get stuff I really wanted by getting rid of some stuff I really didn't want or had waaaaaaay too much of!
You just found the seed and plant trading fourms?
With all that you have gotten, I thought you found it long ago!
Trina, I saw your wants list. Do you have 5 acres of land for it all?...........LOL
I have 33 in Missouri to be exact Kassy
purple carrots, blue potatoes, pink cauliflower and black cherry tomatoes?
alright since no one's talking I'm going to bed
Sorry trina, I had to check another forum......nite
good morning! too much dialogue to comment on, so I will just say good morning and happy friday!
Morning Smiley! I slept late. :)
I had to check out the $600 daylily...thought my sleepy eyes were reading wrong...nope, it's up to $800 and it's pretty and all, but will it do the yard work too?? lol maybe they should name it Bill Bailey.
Morning,
It better do more than yard work. Better cook, clean, babysit and keep DH happy .
It still has 2 days to go before that auction ends!
I can see it now. Win , Plant and a kid plucks it, or something digs it up.
Catch everyone later. Its Friday yeaaaaa!
Good morning every one!! Leaving for work . Every one have a wonderful day. And I'll catch up later. Yipeeeeeeeee its friday !!!.
For $800 that daylily better have gold stamen and an income.....grin. I am with you JJs....pay for it, plant it and one of those giant grasshoppers we have here would eat it....and then DHJim would have me committed....lol
Good morning to you all. Hope everyone has a happy Friday. I was so excited that the rain was gone and I could work outside today....5 minutes out and had to come change shoes, socks and jeans....mud IN my shoes.....YUCK.
Moon, you have a real great MIL. Even if you give her everything she wants, something will happen that you will have to dig them up again and bring them back to your home. Does anything please her???
By the way, maybe you don't know about winter sowing up here. But I will ask anyway. So many times I see people talk about winter sowing as planting in containers outside in February or later. I don't know why you can't just put those seeds directly in the soil. Do you?
Moon you're too honest lol
it's some 20 degrees colder than yesterday here. brrrr
Venice I would imagine the seeds that get sown in winter are the ones that need the cold to germinate, but that's as far as my knowledge goes lol I still have those kousa dogwood seeds sitting here...gotta get those outside! I know they need cold. I don't know about too many others. You may have to look them all up.
Venice, I think they are talking about plants like pansies and snap dragons and veggies like broccoli and kale. The reason for sowing them in pots would probably be cuz the ground is snowy or frozen....I wish I could be of more help.
Lynnie, how is one too honest? Grin....oh wait I know.....yes Monica, those pants do make you look fat.....lol
I figured out 38 years ago that she didn't like me, and 30 years ago that she never would....made the last 30 years a lot more pleasant and stress free by relieving a certain sense of obligation....grin All became crystal clear at Christmas one year as she showed DHJim's sister and I her new diamond earrings...SIL commented that they were her's in the will and MIL said" Melissa, you can't have everything, I have A daughter in law and have to leave somethings to LINDA" (dhJim's brother's wife) " Chopped liver"took a walk outside for a few minutes, and came to the realization that if someone dislikes you that much, you are under NO obligation to like them or go out of your way to please them, Now I do what I want, when I want and when we do things for her and she offers money, I take great delight in responding " If I needed the money back, I wouldn't have spent it in the first place. Thanks, but I don't need your money." It is great, even if we had to eat hot dogs and beans for a month cuz she can't stand "owing" anyone.....
Who knows what evil lurks in the heart of an ignored DIL....lol
Moon, it seems like you always have a such cool way of handling things and still be at peace inside! Your MIL is such an interesting character!
I agree wholeheartedly on that one Moon...all my heathens are out of school today but that's only cause the one either lied or really was confused (i'm leaning toward lied)
character? that's we call those.....het Moon do you know the difference between a southern belle and a southern (you know the word)?
ok I really need to start writing down what I am supposed to be receiving as well as sending in these trades!
yikes....that's a shame, she missed out! Some people don't know a good thing when it's in front of them!
By too honest I meant you should have said the the daylillies died. Sheesh what's up with wanting them back? Planters keepers *grin*
well you're right Moon, about not getting upset about it...life is too short to let the b's get you down!
Thanks, Venice. I just figured a couple things out a long time ago 1) Rule of three...what goes around comes around three-fold 2) I am not responsible for anyone's Kharma save my own.
Makes life a lot more peaceful.
Umm, let's see, Charm school, a string of pearls and an acid tongue.....lol
Moon I can relate to the MIL situation. Except my DH's mom..no way do I call her my MIL...does not speak to me unless it's to say "Is Steve Home" but usually she won't even call she drives around and around the block until she sees him outside.
You wouldn't have to worry about not accepting money from her, she thinks she is owed. Only person I have ever met that plans her own anniversary party, orders new windows for the house, tells you what you will wear to the party and then hand you your share of the bill. Then at the party sends you to get something "she forgot" and has the pictures taken while you are gone.
Lynnie, she has no room for them to be returned. After they came to my house, she whined her yard was barren....DHJim and I got together with his sister and BIL in Sacramento and for MIL's B'day and anniversary purchased and planted a dozen rose bushes, a dozen dark blue agapanthus and a dozen bearded iris, soil amendment, fertilizer and mulch, and enough Bayer Rose care for a year. This was done AFTER she said she wanted the daylilies back...snark snark
Nah Moon it's just the spelling
Little did she know, didn't hurt my feelings didn't want my picture taken anyhow. Just made it easy for me to get out of.
Really is her loss though. She has four daughters and had three sons two have passed on and she has no contact with any of the sons children or granchildren. She has great grankids she has never seen.
JJs, Steve's parent and Jim's parent already have reservations at the Devil's Resort.....hope they bring their fans....lol.
She almost choked when SIL told her Jim and I paid for her 50th wedding anniversary soiree in full. Melissa made the arrangements, we footed the bill and Jim's brother and wife attended.....MIL still mentions that BIL should have contributed 'something to the occassion since he is the eldest'....does Jim's soul a world of good to say we didn't need John's money or input.
Ah, JJs, I don't even want to get into the grandkid stuff.....SIL's son, was fair haired golden child when he was young, but he is gay and no longer golden....My three never were and BIL's three are the new heir apparents.....mess with me all you want to, watch your back when you mess with my kids.....
If she takes a fan I'll probably get the bill. LOL
But it does feel good to say "No thanks don't need your money".
What is funny she only lives around the block from us, we never go past her house but she drives by ours everytime she leaves the house I think.
Enough of that depressingsubject!!
Catch ya all later, need to run out and check on friends. He is probably driving her nuts playing with the remote now that he can see the numbers on it.lol
Have a good afternoon JJs.
Right you are there. But then my kids know , like I am sure yours do, that no one owes you anything. So they don't expect anything.
On the other hand his sisters and their children are going to have the biggest knock down you ever seen when the time comes. We can just sit back and laugh there are going to be no winners except the lawyers
Good Afternoon.
Trina, I got to giggle at all your plants and seeds. Will all that land, wow it's going to be marvelous!
JJ's...Love your atitude with MIL. you go girl.
Geesh, i could tell some rather lunatic stories about my MIL.
She finally realized i have a heart, when my daughter was in a 3 year depression and I dropped everything to pull her back.
We a very, stand back relationship.
Kasey, Is that you with the deer? LOL, all i can remember is seeing a gal holding a deer head up.
Well, hehehe, giggling in delight, i finished an actual project i can share with ya's.
Here is how I spent my morning...Thinking about naming her Gypsie.
ack! they're multiplying! help! there's 5 out there now!
Lynnie what's multiplying?
cute seed!
kids!
hehehe they tend to do that lynnie!
Whew! I'm glad I have a sweet MIL. We have more issues with DH's brother than anything else. Always thinks because we have a 1 family income (and DH stayed home & raised the kids) that we have our eye on MIL's money and stuff.
Out of the 3 of them, DH is the one that cares about "things" less than any of them. Obviously, or he would have quit painting & got a job years ago.
I guess some people forget that you can't take it with you. They are the ones that go to church every Sunday but don't live it day-to-day.
Dave, wherever you are, would have been proud of DH last night! There's a trivia quiz in the paper every night. 10 questions. Last night they asked the 3 stages of a volcano and he got them right. Had to talk it out, but he did it.
