While everyone is sleeping I guess I will start a fresh thread for in the morning.
This picture was attached to a mail I got....thought it was quite lovely.
GYPSIES REMEMBER BASIL part 4
wow Moon you're up late
morning all! Smiley where are you?
Sorry I fell asleep on you guys last night, no goodnight or nothing, very rude.
What's everybody's plans for today? I'm volunteering at school, checking on the FIL, finish cleaning & bill paying...gotta set the robot mop in the kitchen...I had to take it apart yesterday and clean it's brush & recharge it...it did a great job on the living room.
Got an outbreak of flu at the school, heard they THINK it's swine flu because it's too early for regular flu, but they aren't testing to see which it is. Gotta call the doc...kids gotta finish their vaccines. I guess they're only testing the bad cases.
Good Morning All!
Lynnie up yet?
Moon, your mango recipe sounds good.
Dixie, if you were talking to me (and I think you were...) the sweet peas take on a life of their own. They are like arms reaching out to you... strangling... and when you try to dig them up, they have feet under the soil... lo-ong feet and lo-ong toes... reaching everywhere...
Mine had pinky-purple flowers. Took a couple years, but they flowered. And spiders love them...
JJ, I have some spiderwort.
Everyone have a good day!
Good Morning Lynnie...Good Morning Smiley
Rain heading in today....band of rain that runs from my house to Kassy's....2 to 4 inches are expected....should get JJs, Trina and Venice too, but you guys shouldn't feel left out, cuz it is supposed to actually make it all the way across the Great Lakes to the Altantic....strong remnants from Hurricane Rick from the Pacific.
More Fall cleaning since outside won't be an option a couple hours from now.
Have a great day, All
Moon
Morning All,
The rain showed up in middle of night and still here. In the 50's today, wet but not to cold.
Coffee cup empty means time to get ready for another day.
Got those bulbs planted they got a good soaking.
Great Day for the couch and a book if ya can get away with it.
Have a Great Day everyone, try to stay dry
Good Morning JJs. Hope you have a good day....don't let him drive you crazy at the grocery today....grin
morning all just a short visit...I got all the kids out the door, heads killing me, raining here
Good Morning Rachel. Thanks, I just wish I knew where it was taken. It has a truly magical aura to it.
Enjoy your sunshine today and maybe this mess will play itself out before it gets to you...
it's still raining here and my head feels like the tried to shove the entire musical community of New Orleans into it......just checking in...probably gonna go lay back down
Hello out there? I'm up now don't wanna be, but the kids get out an hour early today
what's with the headaches today? I have one too. must be the barometric pressure.
oh the miracle of pain pills head still hurts I just don't care that it hurts....I tried to hold out when it became coal miners pick axeing my eyeballs, I tried to be strong when it became a herd of raging buffalo across my brain, I was steady through the 4th of July fireworks exploding in my vision, I even held up through the room spinning in circles and my tummy churning like the seas of the Berring Straight, I suffered through when every single sound was echoing off the stage of the philharmonic orchestra, and through four hours of total vision loss, But once it started pinging that nerve that seems to run down the side of your face and right through your eardrum and I swear reverberates off of every tooth in your head, it's at this point where you wish you could find someone to shoot you and put you out of your misery, that I finally broke down and took a pain pill. I am weak sorry.
is it raining your way too?
me and a kitty are having a little disagreement right now
It's not raining yet. I certainly don't have what YOU have Trina, just your average run of the mill headache. Used to get those, but not anymore.
Lynnie, a guy here at work was talking about all the ladybugs in droves at his house. I showed him the thread with you & JJ talking about it.
I've been busy today at work, didn't have much chance to play. Had to play with yesterday's paperwork, today's, and I have a consultant coming tomorrow, so I did as much work as I could. i didn't save any fun for tomorrow!
how'd you get rid of them smiley....tell me please cause I average between 5 to 12 of these a month right now
d mail coming at ya
I'd dance for that but it hurts to move
I'm truly sorry. They're debilitating.
4:30!! 4 down, 1 to go!!
go Julie!....hopefully we'll see you when you get home!
Hi everyone! I'm back!!
Sorry so many of you have rain, headaches, and lady bugs!! Dave must be outside working. It is just barely spitting rain but I know we will have more. I heard there was a tornado this morning around where Moon lives.
Did you hear about the explosion of a gas tanker truck here? The flames were as high as 200-400 feet! It slipped on the road and rolled over a few times first. The driver was pulled out before it went up. Cars behind the truck were trying to back up but their hands got burned from the heat. It happen about a mile from where I live. I was working outside and came in for sissors when I heard it on the news. I looked outside and I could see the black smoke billowing high in the air. For a long time, there were helicopters and small planes circling that area and flew over where I live. There were 41 fire stations that responded to the explosion. I didn't think too much about the sirens at first because there is a station on the other side of our aparment complex and we hear them all the time. No one was killed. It was at an intersection of major highways and there would be no easy way for a detour. I still hear the helicopters, getting info for the evening news I assumel
Today I was gardening. I raked off all the old mulch, dirt clods, and stones and made 3 trips to the dumpster. I speaded out the 3 piles of left over compost I had over all the soil. There were some fat worms at the bottom! I will have to check how level the soil is when it rains and I see puddles My $.25 asters and mums finally got planted. I figured if things aren't exactly where I want them, I can move them in early spring. Made a little trench in the soil along the sidewalk so my garden doesn't get flooded. Sprayed the patio to get all the dirt and mud off. I bought cedar mulch which looks good however, about 1/2 of it got moisture in it over night. I brought it into the house to dry until I spread it.
Oh, yes, you are probably wondering what happened to the plants that I rescued. I had written them a letter. She was talking with her husband and they were going to call the police!!! Then she read my long letter explaining what happened. She said she wasn't going to call the police or anything. Later they came over and picked up ALL the plants. She said she felt bad because she had neglected her plants but she had been sick with the early months of pregancy. I had repotted most of the plants and they were looking great. I had put polished stones in her pots and coconut coir (which she didn't even notice!). Also, I fixed the white table, washed the mold and moss off with bleach, and sanded it. She was happy and pleased that I took such good care of her plants. I gave her all the info that Dave and everyone gave me. She said she really loved her plants. And off they went! Unfortunately, they always keep their patio blinds pulled so those plants won't be getting much light! I sat and looked for about 15 minutes at the plants after I took them outside. I guess that was my farewell to them and I was ready to let them go when they came.
I guess that is about it. Hope all of you will have a good evening!
hey venice I am so sorry
About what?
Venice, consider it your good deed for the day. For the week, even! You helped out the plants AND the pregnant lady!
I did enjoy the plants while they were here.
Good thing no one was killed in that explosion. Those tankers hold about 5000 gallons, some even more. We deliver bleach in those, but if that happened, the only thing result would be a clean street!
you never know... maybe when she gets her bearings she'll do something nice that will surprise you.
Smiley, that is a nice thought. But I really don't think she will. And that is absolutely ok.
Well it sounds like you made peace with your wayward strangers.
I still believe that something nice will happen, if not from them, from somewhere else. You created really nice Karma.
time for another pain pill.
where is everybody?
Looks like just you 'n me, Girlie. And I have to cook dinner soon. maybe omelets? I wish DH liked mushrooms. I hardly ever buy them because I'd have to buy one of those cellophaned packages and couldn't eat them fast enough. One of our friends who passed away used to be my food buddy. DARN YOU STEVE!! He helped me eat the mushrooms.
too bad you live so far away then cause we LOVE mushrooms around this house....wonder where I can find some of those growig kits
I know what you mean. So many things are not packaged for one serving
yeah, and some stuff you just can't freeze.
what growing kits?
My stomach is rumbling. I had a light lunch. be back later.
who had the mushroom way back when? Kassy? wish I had that mushroom now!
