Morning glory seeds

Wheaton, IL(Zone 5b)

Does anyone know if morning glory seeds are still viable if collected after a frost? The seed pods are soft. I brought them in and left them in a brown paper bag to dry, but I'm wondering if I should just dump the whole lot. I did manage to collect a few before the frost.

yes they are still viable....even if you do nothing they will grow back in the same place you planted them year after year thicker and thicker (and a few places you didn't want them)

That's for sure. They'll pop up all over the place! I spent the summer pulling up vines in nearby flower beds. They even started climbing on my shrubs. YUK!

if you can keep them contained to the spot you want them they're ok....but the work it takes to do that sometimes!

hey pastime these daylilies i got from you is it still ok to plant them and how deep do I plant them?

Thanks for the info. I collected the seeds this year, as I don't want them where I had originally planted them. The seeds collected after the frost seem to be very soft yet, and much bigger than the seeds I collected prior to the frost - like they are swollen. Will they dry with time?

yes they will dry out and make more than ever, what color are your morning glories?

Mostly they were dark purple, but I did have some light pink and lighter shades of purple. I was given a bunch of seedlings in the spring, but didn't plant them in the right place, so I need to replant next year. Thanks for all the info!

Katrina, I sent you a D-mail regarding planting the daylilies.

If you guys had been raised on a cotton farm, you wouldn't have a morning glory around you.
