It WAS nice, but it will be back in the 90's all this week.
Just for Fun, Tell us Your Weather?
90's!!! I think our days of 90 are surely gone!! Its hanging around 50 here for the past few days. Overcast and rainy, smells like fall. But the trees are changing and they are so beautiful just before their long winter nap!!
Laura H
To top it off, I can't get the a/c to work. I'd open the door for a breeze, but I'm afraid the mosquitoes will get in. I guess I should invest in some of those mosquito plants next year.
It was hot here again today and I just checked the thermostat for the outside temperature and it's still 80º. I can't wait for the weekend, it's supposed to be 78º on Friday and Saturday and 79º on Sunday but then creeping back up to near 90 again next week. It will be nice to have a couple of days of cooler temperatures.
I would love to see pictures of fall and winter foliage! I know some folks have snow already, which is really strange when we are still having summer weather here! We do get a little fall color this far south but nothing vivid like some of y'all get to experience! I have a photo somewhere from a few years ago that was the most colorful my yard has ever seen, I think it was 2004 or 2005. Of course it wasn't anything like what y'all see up north but it was pretty exciting for me. I will see if I can find the picture and come back here and post it. Hope you all will share any pretty fall colors or snow photo's!
it didnt even make it pass 30 here, and i was chilly but toughed it out
Wow, Jim ... that is COLD! I can't imagine the high temps being in the 30's! Brrrr I don't mind nights dropping into the mid to upper 40's but I don't like it getting any lower than that. We southerners are wimps when it comes to cold, LOL.
Our Fall sometimes doesn't even arrive until December or January if we actually even get a taste of Fall. I couldn't find the photo I was looking for with all the color in my front yard but I did find this one where the Hickory trees and a Crape Myrtle still have a few leaves that are colorful. This was from late January 2007. Strange having the trees go dormant so late in the season, isn't it? They lose their leaves and a couple of weeks later they are sprouting anew.
Wow ... love the color!
My mums got stomped by the guttering guys! No where for the ladders to go but some are left. They really did try to be careful and couldn't help it.
It has been rainy all week and cloudy. I am begining to wonder if I live in Seattle.
It's 5:20 pm and the temp is still reading 90 degrees here in Palm Bay. It's supposed to cool down by the week-end. I sure hope so. I have to get in the garden and do some weeding. The weeds are taking over. Between the temperature and the humidity, it's just too darn hot to do anything outside. Only great thing is, that I can still swim in the pool. LOL
Hi Eileen! I jumped in the pool today too ... it was another hot day and I sure look forward to the weekend with the cooler temp's that are predicted! It should be great for being outside ... mid to upper 70's for highs! Down here in Florida we have to enjoy it while we can because it doesn't last long does it? Right now it's overcast and 83º in Daytona Beach.
Lin, it's still 5 degrees higher here. 88 and holding steady. LOL
I think I can show you some fall colors. This was from this past weekend.
Have seen some pictures of snow already in the Canadian forum and the Rocky Mountain forum.

We're going back to fall, which we skipped, to go right to winter lol
~Susan~
Loved the pictures DonM47!!
We had snow last weekend, but right now temps are in the low 30's to low 40's at night.and 50's and rainy in the daytime.Whatever happened to Indian summer......sigh.
Very nice! Love the album and the fall color!
Your very welcome. But obviously I need built-in spell check whenever I type (either that or stronger glasses). Sahre...what is that!
Here in Danville, Va we have had rain and low temps for this time of year... We are 41 as I type and it is only going up to the high 40 to low 50 for the rest of the week.... We have had enough rain this year to keep us out of the drought we have had in the past couple years...... My son is having an outdoor wedding on October 24, and I am hoping the weather picks up some for this..LOLOL If not a lot of cold people are going home early...LOLO
Hugs,
Susan
Currently 76º here at 8:12 a.m. - for us it's going to be another hot day, UGH! I am sooo ready for a bit cooler weather. I don't want the below 40º temp's but sure look for some cooler days and nights. I like the night time temp's to be in the 40's thought ... makes for nice sleeping!
Susan: Congrats to your son on his upcoming marriage! A fall outdoor wedding should be absolutely beautiful and I hope the weather holds up for them. Do they have a Plan B just in case of rain? I will be keeping good thoughts that it is a perfect day!
It is only 46 as I type... Heat is now on...LOLOL
Hugs,
Susan
It's miserable in South Jersey. It's in the low 40's with lots of rain and wind. It's going to be like this right through the weekend but with heavy rain and high winds. We're at the beginning of a Nor'easter. Horrible weather with cold northeast winds, heavy rain, and lots of coastal flooding. There's nothing nice about it. The worst part is that we are getting 2 of them back to back, Friday and Saturday.
A beautiful day here after several drizzly gloomy ones. Sunshine and 60F. ^_^
AvPat, Where is your part of town? I was born and raised in Jersey.. How far are you from Monmouth County... Have a brother still living in N.Bergen . Jersey City....
Hugs,
Susan
Hi Susan,
I'm down in South Jersey in Camden County. I live in Atco which is about half way between Philadelphia and Atlantic City. The areas you mentioned are way north of us. We live in a very rural area. We still have very small towns and lots of farmland around us. We live at the edge of the Wharton State Forest. I don't know if you are familiar with that. But basically we are in the Jersey Pinelands with many deer and wild turkeys in our back yard. It's very quiet here, but we're an easy drive to the busy heavily populated areas whenever we need the mall or such.
How long has it been since you left New Jersey?
Pat
We were about 2 1/2 hours from Atlantic City... Oh we left 20 years ago this pas Aug.... My Mom passed and I could not stay in our home with all the memory's... I almost killed me... So to Va. we went...I love it here but there are times we wish we did not move to Danville. They are very predigest here and before anyone says color it is not that.. They don't like anyone coming into there area.... BUT I live here and will always be called a damn Yankee but to bad we are staying...LOL
Nice talking with you
Susan
Susan, my husband and I have been married for 36 years and have 7 children and I'm still considered an outsider!! LOL!! And I am from the south!! I am only about a 45 minutes drive from you.
Just to let everyone know my computer is fried big time from a bad power surge I had........the electric company was out here all day yesterday........
I am on my brother's computer and will have to have one built.....don't know how long it will take.
We are having beautiful weather in the 70's today ......nice and cool........
Wish I could post pics of the kid's house and how we landscaped in one day with a couple of helpers who were strong men..............my son was not there as he had to work so Sarah and I spoke out Spanish, worked, too and it got mostly done.............
So......i don't know when i will be back.........don't remember how long it takes fabian to build a computer..........
I haven't unpacked the car yet........but bonnie, do I ever have a surprise for you...variegated hoya kerri I found at a nursery between here and Austin.

Laura H
I am sorry you have not been well... Shoot if we did it on a Sunday our hubby's can even come and we can bore them to tears with plants...LOL Get Better really soon ... ^_^
Hugs,
Susan
It's nearly 40 right now and we had frost warnings overnight. It's too dark to see if I lost the plants on the dock to frost. We've been here on our boat through these 2 Nor'easters that came through back to back. We had cold, wind, and lots of coastal flooding. Because of the wind, we haven't had a low tide in about 5 days. The high tides are extremely high and causing so much flooding. We are supposed to start having better weather tomorrow with temperatures in the 60's.
We had our first frost lastnight ... Tonight is suppose to be the same then a warm up is coming... I don't mind the cold...
Hugs,
Susan
It was 48 degrees last night and it has been raining and raining and raining.
50 degrees, and yes more rain!! We have had more rain already in Oct. than we usually get all winter!
In the past 24 hours we have gotten over 3 inches!! I need to see some sun here!!!
Does somebody want to trade? It's still 83º here at almost 7:30 p.m. and humid as well. We've been having some temp's lately that have been tying records and breaking records .. high's of 90, 91 and humidity to match! I am sooo ready for some cooler weather! Our normal highs this time of year are low 80's which wouldn't be bad if the humidity would ease up a bit as well! We had a taste of fall a few weeks ago, highs in the upper 70's during the day and 50's at night, very balmy, lovely weather! Waaaa ... I want it back!! We could use a little rain too so y'all could send a bit of it farther south.
^_^
