I realized too late that the azalea didn't have a tag in it when I bought it from HD when I went back they were sold out. I assumed it was an Encore but I can not find that one on the Encore series website.
Nothing to be sorry about, Chris. I wouldn't have anything planted in that spot if I didn't get it from you. Thanks.
Still have yarrow, going
October blooms
MY turn.....:o)
Been a while that I had time to take pictures of anything.....NOT that anything in bloom at this time is much to rave about--but any color that is still doing well makes me happy....
I still call this "Brent's salvia"--as I got the original plants from him at hart's Swap--a few years ago now.....
Sorry it is out of focus----probably should have used the "macro" setting....:o(
forgot to mention that, in the above picture, that perennial Begonia sure took over a big part of this bed. I thought it had died--and i dug up the bed all over there.....then it came up and went crazy!
Question----HOW invasive is this begonia????? maybe i should discontinue having it??? Look again!
WHO gave me seeds for this "Firewworks" (??) or "Starburst" (??) Gomphrenas??????
Whoever you are--you never told me they would grow about 5' tall and fall allover the other plants!
YES! The blooms are beautiful--but I was hoping they would be about 18" or so--like the "Globe Amaranth" Gomphrena.....with the Clover-like blooms....
Gita, Could that purple daisy be this Osteospermum?

Here are two of the three Mums that I bought last year (6" pots) that made it through the Winter---MAN! Did they ever!!!! I just put the pots under some shrubs and threw a bunch of leaves over them.
I had NO idea they would grow so big! I even pinched them twice!
I will be digging up the yellow one and moving it to another spot--as the yellow Mum bloomed weeks before the other two. Did NOT like that! I have others that I can plant in it's place.
This is the small, round bed that I planted my KK Hibiscus in. You can see some of the KK in the picture.
The other flowers you see are Zinnias and my Tall, Blue. incessantly self-seeding Ageratum. Once you have these--you will always have these....They ARE easy to move around as seedlings, though. Put them anywhere you want to have them---for eternity.....:o)) I like the subtle blue color peeking out here and there.....
This is also the bed that I had all those "Dwarf", Red Coreopsis in. I am bracing for all the "volunteers" next Spring!
Will have plenty to share at the Plant Swap--that's for sure!
I also LOVE Pentas. Are they perennial for you? Do you grow them from seed?
What about the Lantana? Do you grow it from seed every year?
I have a white Bachelor's Button that does the same thing as your Gomphrena. It is a pain. I want to find a shorter one. Could also use some of the blue.
That Salvia is really pretty.
stormy--OF COURSE!!!! Silly me!
"Alstromerias" are Lilies.......used in almost every flower arrangement.....
OK! Plugging away----
Bought 2 mums at MD Flower and Foliage (8" pots--$3 each).....and 2 lg. Pumpkins at my Weis grocery store for $4.88 each. HD charges $7.97 for these.......RUN! Not sure if i will carve them for Halloween......They look nice just the way they are.....
Will try to keep these over the winter as well and find a place for them next year.....
stormy--OF COURSE!!!! Silly me! "Osteospermum"="BonyspermMums"....:o)

Here is one of the many Cannas I dug in (in the Spring) right in the back of every bed--smack against the House foundation---because???? I had NO OTHER place to plant them!!!!
They did OK! I KNOW the rhizomes will be quite large when i dig them up. Not sure WHERE I will find room for them NEXT year??????
Love the deep-colored foliage ones!
No blooms---BUT--
Here is last year's Swedish Ivy HB and my Ric-Rac Cactus shating the laundry line pole....
Both are HUGE!
I cannot understand WHAT has become of the Swedish Ivy plant????? You never see it any more! Have any of you seen it for sale anywhere?
I have plenty! and--I keep pinching it back to make it more bushy!
See next post!!!!!............................
OK! This 10" HB was filled with 4" tip-cuttings from the one in the previous post this Spring. Right into the soil!
Secret-------sssh!...THREE cuttings in EACH finger hole when you start a new pot....
6" pot---5 finger holes
8" pot---7 finger-holes
10" pot--11-12 finger-holes.
The 3 cuttings per hole giver you an amazingly full basket....They ALL root! Don't sweat it!!!!
When they gain enough length--pinch all the ends off again--and start another HB.....or just a pot.
She's a beauty all right! And it is only one of the 2 HB I started from the tip-cuttings. gave the other one to a friend....
Ready for more at he next Plant Swap?????? I sure will have them!
Last one--I promise!
Here are all my Coleus cuttings I have taken. Most of them seem to be doing OK. Some did not.
Woe be me at he rate they are growing already!!! I have a long way to go!
What will I do in a month??????
I just keep telling myself that each one of them will save me about $6--assuming that I will get 2 new cuttings from each one of these.....THAT will be a big savings! Thanks to you all for all the encouragement to do this.
If anybody wants Atlas Gloves, they are starting to close down different sizes and colors:

OOOPs! stormy!
I missed your second cross-post....
NO! Pentas are annuals here....actually--I have just always treated them as such! have NO clue if they would come back next year!
Same goes for Lantanas.....I just blow the $2.50-$3 and buy new potted ones.
I did take seeds a couple of years ago--but I DO NOT have the time or patience to grow them from seed. I tried 2 years ago but none of them sprouted!
I DO love this plant!!!!
Gita, Pentas aren't so easy to find around here. Not a popular annual.
I have that same problem with the mums. My orange and some of the reds bloom earlier. My whites are the very last to bloom.
Your KK bed looks great. Is this your first year for that Coreopsis? Did it overwinter for you? I'd love to get some of that if it would be hardy here.
Great job on the Coleus. OK, you folks have convinced me, I will take cuttings of all of mine.
Gita, Oh PAAALLLEEEEZE, post that Beefsteak on the Begonia thread. I must must must have one.
thank you Gita!!!
and Jen I am glad you had better luck with arbor day than my neighbor did.. hers did not make it... maybe just 1 or 2
I had a few trees that started out as sticks and were growing/looking pretty good enough to plant, unitl Wall-e decided he wanted to play with the pots. UGH that stupid dog!!!!!!!! The crape myrtle was the only one that survived the Wall-e attack.
flowerjen--
I have seeds from the red Crepe Myrtle....Do you know if they would grow and how long would it take b/f it was a presentable bush?
Collected them at HD from gone-to-seed pods....
Gita
Mine started out as a 10" stick and is now over 6' tall, I did nothing special with it. Start them in a pot, can't hurt to try it.
jen--
Do you know if they should be Wintersown--or just started in the Spring???
Anyone?
I found this info.

Jen--Thank you so much!
I printer it out! You did it again!!! I am impressed.....
G.
That Jen is awsome!
Awwww, shucks, I'm getting a big head.
...Just exhale!...and it will be gone!
LOL
