Lavender Chiffon in Aug

I think this one is Blues--Karen's Royal Majesty. My camera can't
pick up the purple color for some reason. This one's a beauty.

Marginata, don't know if she will bloom this season. If she doesn;t,
guess it's my fault, I haven't fed it or given it any sun.

Dark pink purpurea

going back QUITE a ways,(reviewing threads I was too wiped out to keep up with~ lol, I see others were / are having the twisting version like mine of the Murasaki ~or was the name Maisugata? whoops~! I forget~ its late for me. anyway I thought the flowers were crushed by the leaves but it seems either a feature of the seed/blooms or something in the hybridization? I think i ordered mine from somewhere accessible like Onalees, (no disparaging intended) ...
...odd though they grow out like that? were others seeds traded? Ordered? just wondering outloud~

Darren - I am seeing twisting, deformed blooms a lot now. Fertilizer? Heat? Hydration? I have no clue what is causing that to happen! Your blooms sure are lovely! Even with the malformation of the flowers! :-)

Jackie - Pretty blooms! Love that dark pink purpurea! What is a Marginata vine? Is it a MG?

I meant to post this a day or so ago. I got an usual pattern on the Sazanami #2 vine. AND this actually was loaded with pollen. Just that one bloom! Isn't that interesting? Of course ... I took full advantage of all that pollen and made quick work like a bee! :-)

And here are the usual Sazanami blooms for comparison. No words to describe what I see when I see these blooms every morning! This vine has put out tons of blooms and only a small amount of seed pods. I sure hope that changes and I get lots of seed pods forming! This is one that has to be shared with y'al! :-)

You can see the underside of the mutant bloom (2nd one down from the top) in this photo. Color changed on the blooms because of the sun going behind some clouds. So darn pretty! It blooms like this every day! Most of the other vines are about done blooming except this one and the Diluted Fuji no Muraski! Isn't that something! My two favorites are still putting on a show for me! :-) Can't ask for anything more than that! :-)

A normal bloom on DFNM.

Here is a mutant bloom on DFNM. It's got the twisty look, too. ;-)

Here's the typical striped Blue-Purple Henka bloom.

Thumbnail by beckygardener
(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

And here is a solid bloom from the same Henka vine. :-)

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

The Ishidatami vine seems to be producing mostly solid petal blooms now instead of the split blooms. They had an interesting star pattern on them today, too! This pattern was on a number of the solid petal blooms! Weird.

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Normally the blooms look like this.

Last photo is Mauve Splash. Almost solid color bloom right next to a blizzard bloom. All on the same vine. :-)

Becky, I am in love with your Sazanami vine, so pretty.
The marginata is a species M glory. The bloom should be
another white with a pinkish eye/throat. A was kind enough to
share these sds with me.

Becky, forgot to say you're Ishi blooms are very interesting. I hope to
return to growing those next season.
Dany was kind enough to share Henka sds and I never got them planted, will for sure next yr after seeing your blooms.
Mauve splash is a gorgeous, showy bloom.

szarvas, Hungary

Among all the cultivars that I have grown this summer I do not see this wonderful Henka.I hope that Becky will send me some seeds.
Despite all the precautions we take, every year we lose cultivars.
Life is cruel !(*_*) LOL.

I only have this Purple Striped.

Debra i have had NO luck with any of the Cameo elegance here, i think it needed more sun. I have a lot of seeds though if you want some and then i will send the rest to Becky for her group trade...i will keep a few for 2010 just in case i get lucky, lol.

Debra, Love your Blue Silk and Cameo Elegance.

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Thanks, Jackie! I hope to have seeds of Sazanami to share with everyone! Glad you enjoyed the others, too! The marginata species sounds interesting! I hope you eventually get blooms and seeds! :-) Beautiful Rebecca bloom!! Another I. purpurea I want to grow again.

Dany - Yes! You will absolutely get seeds of the Blue-Purple Henka Shibori! :-) I love your Purple Striped! Very lovely!!!

Debra - WOW!!! What beautiful blooms! I am glad they are all safe and warm in your basement! I wished I had a big room like that to bring in my garden! Like having a secret winter garden area! I am envious! Your plants look great! This one here is a cutie. What is it's name?: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=7136098

Darren - Thanks for offering to send some Cameo Elegence seeds for the group swap! That cultivar is known for it's gorgeous variegated leaves! I know those who grow it, love it!

you know what Becky,, that is not a seed I know I planted, but prolly one I thre in for good measure.. so if anyone recognizes it let me know.. it is in a pot now in the window.. that tag says beach morning glory and I know that is not a Beach Morning glory LOL The ones I have growing look nothing like that one..

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Diluted Fuji no Muraski is producing some really strange blooms. They almost look feathered/hige.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

your BAW came up kinda late, but produced a flower, now I have to go get it out of the barrell out back tommorrow and pot it up..

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

I couldn't decide which photo to post and now I think I should've posted this one. The DFNM blooms are lighter in color and producing split petals. Strange ... and of course ... a lot of the blooms are twisted and odd.

Thumbnail by beckygardener
(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Debra - LOL! I'm telling you ... these plants have a mind of their own and a timing of their own! Glad to hear the BAW finally germinated and grew! Better late than never! lol

This is the other blooms on DFNM. If you notice any forming seed pods, you'll see that they are yellow and shriveling up. All these blooms and NO seed pods! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!

Thumbnail by beckygardener
(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Mauve Splash produced some nice blooms today. Plenty of seed pods ripening on this vine! :-)

Thumbnail by beckygardener
(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Blizzard patterned bloom on the Mauve Splash. Same vine, different bloom! Crazy, huh?

Thumbnail by beckygardener
(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

I keep looking at these Sazanami blooms. I can't even describe them in words. Who would have ever guessed that a flower could look like this?! No matter how many of these blooms I see, they still take my breath away! I need to move to Japan!!! LOL!

oh Becky, this one here: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=7139639
be still my beating heart!
