Sure would appreciate some advice. The landscaper was cutting back a huge redtwig dogwood, and found that wasps have found a foundation hole into the house. I don't want to seal them in the house, so I wonder when's the best time of day to seal the hole? And should I spray the hole, too? He didn't want to do anything to rile them, and it was cool enough this morning that they were sluggish, so he wasn't bothered, thank goodness.
Wasp nest!
Sunset is the best time to use a wasp spray meant for nests. It kills them almost instantly.
Thanks, Pirl--I'll spray at sunset. I'll then seal the hole, and that'll be that, right?
I'd give it a day just to be 100% sure they're all gone. Check again tomorrow about an hour before sunset to see if any strays could possibly have survived to return. Wouldn't want you to get stung unnecessarily. Then seal the hole.
Thanks again, Pirl--will spray at sunset today, wait until tomorrow evening, spray again if need be, then seal the hole.
Great!
That is excellent advice, and worked for me.
