New Garden Projects This Year #5
teee heee
It is sad that so many amature's try a pro job & get hurt or lose their lives. We have a good supply of forewood after 2 trees were taken down last spring.
In my defence, the tree we cut down wasn't big and we did it in small sections. And after I cut a few branches by myself I waited for DH to do the rest together. I did enjoy your pictures JoAnn!
Thank gawd it was cool and breezy that day or I wouldh have been uncomfortable.
Bill!! Sorry its been rainy here and I have been confined too long.
Oh, My, JoAnn!!! LOL Nice to see you having fun up there!!
What a hoot! JoAnn I now know how you keep warm. ^_^
Oh, Kathy, that purple vanda orchid is just gorgeous! Very nice!
Karen
Thanks, Karen. All those buds are now open. I guess I need to take more pics. Gotta have fun before the winter comes, Louise!
I went to a JM grower yesterday and was blown away by the colors.
I'll go back today if sunny and photo.
He lives a mile away so its no problem.
I bought TreePeonies from him last year.
nice karen! wish mine was that big:)
Thanks. Mine's really not that big, maybe just looks bigger in the photo. It's not as tall as me yet, and I'm 5' 3". I think it could be about 4' to 4 1/2'. Somewhere in that range, anyhow. It's a very slow grower. Besides the big red JM that my mother planted years ago, and is taller than our house, it's the only one I have. I need more!
Karen
Oh that is so beautiful, JoAnn! Great choice!!
DD and SIL are digging the hole.
The bark is lizerd green
Wow - is the one shown the one you bought? Gorgeous.
Hi Kathy! Beautiful vanda!! And what will "we" be doing on Tuesday????? I hope you have a fantastic birthday!! Any new plants on the horizon???? LOL
very very nice joann - those pictures are great - i would be in trouble there for sure!
i am curious what the price range was for those big ones? The nursery i get my larger ones have some for several hundred into the four figures. the katsura i got was 33% off and only $100.
going to have to look into the Seriyu - don't have that one.
There is a need for wha.
DD and SI have hit 2 huge rocks.
I did buy the one shown.
Seriyu i the name .
I'll have picks of the planting later when the hole is big enough.
SIL had the van and ancient trailer for hauling manuer for the gardens so I bought the tree today in order to get it home from the nursery a couple of miles away. The hybredizer is 88 and has a helper but no delivery.
great tree - like the color and the leaf shape is very intereting
that makes sense - not cheap, for that size well worth it - you will be very happy!
The tree is planted

Oh, Jo Anne, that tree is heavenly! I think I'm in love! The bark makes me think of the palo verde trees in the deserts of Arizona. They have green bark also. Your tree is spectacular. I'm turning green with envy!
Karen
It will save my astilbes from frying as well as the actaeas.
Just enough shade.
I love all the wonderful fall colors here! Very nice! I am going to need some help from our tree lovers about which to plant for great fall color. I need some really bright red ones for the back edge of my property. I want ones that get rather large. So they can hold their own against the oaks and pines back there.
I'm with you, Karen. Green with envy and I was just thinking of the Palo Verdes today (lived in Tucson for 2 years). Gosh JoAnn I'm so excited for you!!
Wow - gorgeous tree, Jo Ann! Good for you! But I don't like the sound of you saying that at 74 you can't wait a few years......I think you've got LOTS of good years left in you!!! Your quick wit, your great talent and your wonderful sense of humor will keep you going for MANY more years! Yay to that!
Here, here!!
:)
Its the body that's giving me problems.
It's not fair to have a Mercedes Benz mind and a Ford Pinto body.
LOL
great stuff Karen & Jo Ann!!!
