That second shot of the hummer is outstanding duc!!! Please be sure to put it in Bird Files.

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

The red of the adult male Anna's sure is striking to me.

I was thinking the same thing...excellent shots Duc!

Marlton, NJ

Woohoo, outstanding shots duc!

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

Thank you for your kind comments Rose and Pelle. I put two of them in the files.

PERTH, Australia

They are fantastic shots, duc. The last one is a real stunner.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

The last one is my fav of this bunch too. Thanks duc.

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

The sky was gray, but the hummers didn't care much.

A pair just resting. They look fairly young and may have never seen or felt the rain before.

Lovely pics duc!

Grand-Falls, NB(Zone 4a)

Duc those are amazing shots. those Annas are cute little hummers.
I really like that site with the fountains, some beautiful ones in there.

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

wow I just love all the pics of the hummers mine have gone south for the winter will not see them again till end of april to mid may depending on the weather so please people keep those pics a coming for the sad cold people up north

mona

Dover AFB, DE(Zone 7a)

...and for the sad, cold people in countries that do not have them. I miss them so much.

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

I really miss the entertainment of them chasing each other and the chatering
I have other birds that are here year round
the woodpeckers I only see from fall to spring
four different kinds
but nothing compares to hummers

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

Sorry that I'm not able to send you all some of my hummers. They are so delightful and addicting, at least to me. This morning I just stepped out on the deck for a minute or two and before I knew it, I'd taken over 300 photos of them.

This one had a mom like mine that was always telling me to "sit up straight".

Duc, do you keep your hummers all year or will they eventually migrate?

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

Most of them will migrate in mid to late winter-whenever the temps dip below the 40's-but we usually average about 4 that stay all year long. We had some rain this morning and the storm seems to have brought us more hummers. There were over 30 of them fighting for a feeder spot.

Renton, WA

This little girl is quite friendly and readjusting
after those nasty bad ruffies went away.
Most of the anna's were in the raspberries and
bean patch sneaking into flowers just to get
ambushed by those southbound travelers.

Wonderful gorgeous shots, Duc.

Crummy shot of her into cape fuchsias,
still flowering strong, in fact most the
hyssops, salvias, sage and annual fuchsias are blooming
great. Hope it lasts for a few weeks more.

Dirt, she's a cutie. It's really hard to get pictures of these fast little ones while they're checking out blooms. Hope you'll post more pictures!

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

LUV that last pic dirt. Thanks for sharing.

Marlton, NJ

She is cute dirt!!!

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

Wonder what this one was thinking?

Beautiful Duc...I think the first one was thinking "maybe I'll be a model when I grow up"!!

Marlton, NJ

Lovely shots duc!!

Renton, WA

That's a great raindrop balancing act, love that shot, Duc.

This little rather photogenic girl stops just long enough to take her picture
on some hyssop.

or maybe I'll grow up to be a helicopter' I think they sound like little helicopters. Nice shots duc and dirt.
