Actually, there were four hummers and the one sitting on the railing chased two of them away. Guess he was sitting guard on the misses.

This is my older one that gets his own personal feeder and everyone knows it. He has a bad area on his lower bill, but it hasn't kept him from defending his feeder for several months now.

LOL the one little one is waving frantically 'O I know the answer! Pick me! I know the answer!' ^_^

Still have one Anna's hanging around. A few days ago I saw two at the feeder, but I think one was just passing through.

I think I've got a few that have moved on, at least since yesterday. We're expecting a storm to come in tomorrow and that usually brings more to our area and hopefully yours too.

I'm counting at least 25 Anna's that are still here.

Ducbuc - I have hummer envy, camera envy, and bird-bath envy. I've decided to focus on birdbath envy. What sort of birdbath is that? Did you make the tiny fountain ring, or did you buy it? I really really need one. Thanks.

Pollengarden, unfortunately I got this tabletop fountain at a yard sale ($5!!!) and I've been hunting for another similar one for ages now with no luck. I can't tell you how many birds are continuously visiting for either a sip of water or a shower. If you can find any kind of fountain, I guarantee it will pull the birds in to it.

Duc, do you think it may have been hand-crafted?

I don't think so, I'll bet it was in some cheap catalog. This one is pretty sturdy so the larger birds can't tip the removable top tray.

Someone on another board asked me for photos of the whole thing so her hubby could build her one. (Don't know if he ever did it) It just runs on a motor for a fish tank, so all you'd have to do is bend some pipe.
I'll be happy to send photos to anyone that wants to try to make it or something similar.

Another suggestion is my other solar fountain. It just sits in a large sized pot saucer with large rocks to hold it steady. The hummers and all the other birds love this one too. I have to clean it every day (the other one too) because of so many dirty birds!
